Daniel Jacob Stern (born August 28, 1957) is an American film and television actor. He is known for his roles in the Hollywood films Breaking Away, C.H.U.D., Diner, City Slickers, the first two Home Alone films, where he played bandit Marv Merchants, and as the narrator for the television series The Wonder Years.

Biography

Originaire de Bethesda, Maryland, Daniel Stern commence à jouer à l'âge de 17 ans. À la fin de ses études secondaires, il auditionna pour le Festival Shakespeare de Washington en cherchant un emploi en tant qu'ingénieur d'éclairage mais a fini par jouer un rôle dans A strolling player with a lute dans leur production de As you like it. Peu de temps après, il se rendit à New York où il prit quelques cours de théâtre et commença à assembler un portefeuille impressionnant de ces crédits off-Broadway comme Split, Frankie and Annie, La Mandrake, et The old glory. The movie takes place in 1946, six years after the events in the first movie which took place in 1940, showing Ralphie as a teenager, almost 16, who only wants a used 1939 Mercury convertible for Christmas. He accidentally causes the car to roll back out of the used car lot and gently tap a light pole causing a plastic reindeer on the pole to loosen and fall through the convertible top, so he bands together with Flick and Schwartz to raise enough money to fix it before Christmas so that the car dealer won't have Ralphie thrown in jail.

Lara Brennan (Elizabeth Banks) is convicted of murdering her boss and is sentenced to life in prison. One day, she attempts suicide, and tells John that she cannot survive a life in prison. John promises that this will not be her life.

In desperation, Boyd stabs the guard to death and the group is forced to dismember the bodies before taking them to the desert for burial.

The two decide to hold Scott until after the game, reasoning that if they are going to prison, they might as well help the Celtics win in the meantime.

In New York, Kevin tours the city and convinces the staff at the Plaza Hotel into giving him a room using Peter's credit card. During a visit to Central Park, Kevin is scared by the appearance of a homeless woman tending to pigeons.
