Darrin Dewitt Henson (born May 5, 1972) is an American choreographer, dancer, actor, director and producer, best known for his instructional dance video Darrin's Dance Grooves (which was heavily marketed in 2001 and 2002), and for his portrayal of ex-convict Lem Van Adams on the Showtime TV series Soul Food, which is the longest-running drama with a predominantly African-American cast in television history.

Henson also starred in productions such as the ABC television movie Double Platinum and the motion picture Stomp the Yard. In 2003, Henson directed the film Violation. He has choreographed music videos and concerts for such popular music artists as New Kids on the Block, Jordan Knight, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees and NSYNC.

While pulling an April Fools' Day prank on a nerdy classmate named Melvin, a group of high school friends (Missy, DeAnna, Eva, Diego, Malik, and Marlin) accidentally kill him when Marlin hits Melvin with a football, causing him to fall on and be impaled by a piece of rebar. DJ Williams (Columbus Short) is a young man in inner-city Los Angeles. He and his younger brother Duron (Chris Brown) compete in local dance competitions as members of a crew known as the "Goon Squad". During the battle there are backs and forths, but in the end of the battle the Goon Squad win a cash-prize, and the leader of the rival crew goes all in for a double or nothing battle,which DJ accepts much to the dismay of his brother who knows that if the opposing crew leader thinks he got hustled the crew won't be able to spend the money they win, the Goon Squad wins the second battle and the losing home crew responds by ambushing DJ and his crewmates after the show. A fight breaks out, and the leader of the rival crew starts beating up DJ. Duron pushes him away and starts fighting him, leading the rival to pull out a gun and shoot Duron, killing him.

The Salon is an independent feature film that was developed, financed and produced by Howard University grads David Odom and Mark Brown.
