David Bruce (January 6, 1914 – May 3, 1976) was an American film actor, known for his chilling performance as Ted Allison in The Mad Ghoul.

Born in Kankakee, Illinois, he signed a movie contract with Warner Brothers in 1940. The Northwestern University graduate appeared in many movies from the 1940s until 1955 when Bruce decided to give up acting. The 6' 1" (1.85 m) actor appeared in over 60 movies including Flying Tigers (1942), Christmas Holiday (1944) and Lady on a Train (1945).

He is the father of singer-songwriter Amanda McBroom, who wrote the song The Rose, made popular by Bette Midler. His daughter wrote a beautiful tribute to her father in a song titled "Errol Flynn."
He is also the father of John Jolliffe, a psychologist in Orange County, CA.

Bruce died from a heart attack in Hollywood, California at the age of 62.

Late in the reign of Elizabeth I of England, Spanish noble Don Juan de Mañara (Errol Flynn) is repatriated from London to Madrid after a serious diplomatic scandal caused by his affair with the British fiancée of a Spanish duke. The film opens in Virginia in 1865, shortly after General Lee's surrender at Battle of Appomattox Court House. A war correspondent Jim Steed exchanges comments with Count Von Bohlen, an arrogant Prussian army officer serving as a military attaché during the American Civil War. A year later Steed is in Vienna shortly before the outbreak of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. There he encounters a famous dancer, Anna Marie, who he persuades to spy for him on Von Bohlen, now a member of the Prussian General staff, who has become infatuated with her. However, a strange, clouded feeling in her mind occurs when ever the subject of Egypt is mentioned.
