Raj Mittal (Fardeen Khan), Veer Saxena (Zayed Khan) and Aryan Kapoor (Sharman Joshi) are unhappy with their respective marriages even though they love their spouses. Their wives Bhavana (Ayesha Takia), Diya (Esha Deol) and Sonia (Soha Ali Khan) are busy with their everyday lives, and their husbands feel ignored by them. Bhavana constantly uses religion as an excuse to not be intimate with her husband, Diya aspires to be an actress for Mr.Y (Rajpal Yadav), and Sonia is a lawyer who is obsessed with doing cases with her partner H.S Gulati (Ali Asgar). the three men try to commit suicide as Veer tries to hang himself on a tree but falls, Aryan drinks expired rat poison and Raj wishes he was run over by a train but their suicide plan does not work until they also meet Kothari (Satish Shah) who is also trying to commit suicide because he had three companyies that have broken down. The three men get a job as Kothari hires them to work for him. Soon the three men come across Kothari's daughters: Madhuri (Riya Sen), Rekha (Aarti Chhabria) and Dimple (Sophie Choudry). It is not long before they are tempted by them. Unfortunately for them Lucky Bhai (Sanjay Dutt) is out to make their life hell and expose them to their unassuming wives. The three men sign a contract as the three beauties have been deceived and that their wives are disappointed at them. Once again the three friends commit suicide by standing on top of a ladder but are left hanging when Kothari tries to cut the ladder with a chainsaw. their wives come but are left hanging to as Lucky Bhai saves them but Raj falls into a lump of dust and junk, Aryan falls through wires and electricity and Kothari and Veer falls into a dog van with a broken arm along with Kothari who falls onto a cement packet. Injured, Veer,Raj and Aryan apoligize to Lucky Bhai as he feels awkward about saving people but has trust in them.

A woman Neha (Ramya Krishnan) witnesses the murder of a friend of her named Madhu (Divya Dutta) by a notorious smuggler Zorawar (Paresh Rawal) but she skips while being chased by Zorawar's goons and ends up in the secure custody of police inspector Arjun Singh (Amitabh Bachchan), a friend of police inspector Pyare Mohan (Govinda). In reality, Neha, unaware of their identities, believes Arjun to be "Pyare", about whom she was agreeably apprised of by Madhu, and so, Arjun has to impersonate Pyare, giving rise to hilarious situations. Concurrently, Pyare flirts with Seema (Raveena Tandon) - Arjun's sister. Everything could have been passable for the two cops if two lookalikes of the cops, by the nicknames "Bade Miyan" (Amitabh Bachchan) and "Chote Miyan" (Govinda) had not been a cause of concern for them because of the misdeeds they commit leading to Arjun and Pyare being accused as the miscreants everytime. With background scores of the songs (specially "Bade Miyan Toh Bade Miyan") that stir the listeners, the movie advances through scenes of thrill and amusement.

Shyamsunder (Govinda) is a naive villager who has a great interest in music. He travels to the city, making friends with Muthuswami (Satish Kaushik), a South Indian tabla player. The president of the TIPS cassette company, Khurana (Kader Khan), is impressed with his musical abilities and promotes him to a high position. As he goes back to repay his debts in the village he receives tragic news of the death of his wife Pooja (Karisma Kapoor) has died in a flood. He then marries Khurana's daughter Divya (Tabu). Seema (Taapsee Pannu) is a young girl who lives in Mumbai with her father (Anupam Kher). He, being an active military officer, wants Seema to marry a similar man. He had arranged Seema's marriage to such people five times in a row, with Seema evading all five arrangements. Her father had now arranged her marriage for the sixth time, which Seema evades again and escapes to Goa to live with her uncle, her father's younger brother (Anupam Kher), in a double role. Siddharth Kashyap (Ali Zafar), Jai (Siddharth) and Omi (Divyendu Sharma) are three friends who live in a rented apartment. Miss Josephine (Lilette Dubey) is their landlady. All the three are frequent visitors to a café owned by Joseph Furtado (Rishi Kapoor). The three owe huge amounts of money to Joseph and Josephine. One day, Omi spots Seema taking a walk with her dog Aryabhatta. Attracted to her, he calls his friend Jai. Both of them try to impress her. One after the other, they break into Seema's house. Omi tries to impress Seema with his poetry. Meanwhile, Seema mistakes him for a dog trainer and takes him straight into her bedroom. Omi assumes Seema is interested him and starts browsing her bedroom while Seema prepares her dog [name of Dog is "Aryabhata" given in movie by writer] Unable to handle the dog, Omi runs back home, where he tells everyone a completely different story. Omi tells his friends that they had sex and were deeply in love. Jealous, Jai tries his luck. Jai breaks in, telling them he is a reputed film-maker. Upon realization, Seema calls her grandmother and makes her beat up Jai until he finally makes his run. Back home, Jai tells a similar story. Jai tells the other two that they two were deeply in love and were now dating. Siddharth, meanwhile, isn't interested in Seema.

Chetan Chauhan (Sanjay Dutt) and Bhagat Bhosle (Ajay Devgan) are two con artists, who have recently robbed Anthony Gonsalves (Arjun Rampal). The film is based on Raj (Govinda) who has a girlfriend, supermodel Dolly (Lara Dutta), and a wife, Kiran (Sushmita Sen).
