David Niven, Jr. (born December 15, 1942), is a British film producer and film actor, with stints as an executive at Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures. He is the son of Oscar-winning actor David Niven and his wife Primula Rollo, His credits include Rush Hour 3, The Cool Surface, Psycho Cop Returns and The Girl with the Hungry Eyes. In 1976 he produced The Eagle Has Landed, and in 1979, he produced Escape to Athena, which starred his father. He was nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards in 1985 and 1987. Niven divorced his first wife, Barbara Lee Buholz (1993–98), and remarried Beatrice Anne Reed, daughter of Annette de la Renta.

L.A.P.D. Detective Carter is directing traffic. Concurrently, Chinese Ambassador Han addresses the importance of fighting the Triads at the World Criminal Court, announcing that he may know the whereabouts of Shy Shen, a semi-mythical individual of great importance to the Chinese mob. Before announcing, an assassin shoots Han in the shoulder, disrupting the conference. Chief Inspector Lee pursues the shooter and corners him, discovering that the assassin is his childhood Japanese friend Kenji. When Lee hesitates to shoot Kenji, he makes his escape when Carter (having heard what's happening over the police radio) arrives and tries to intervene.

A writer returns to Hollywood after finishing his novel in the wilderness. Fourteen-year-old Lisa Holland (Staci Keanan) lives with her mother Katherine (Cheryl Ladd), a successful florist, in Venice Beach, California. In a coffeehouse, Officer Joe Vickers, a serial killer empowered by Satan, overhears Brian and Larry, a pair white-collar workers, discussing a bachelor party that they are planning to throw in their workplace for their friend Gary.
