Diandra Newlin was born in Richmond, Virginia to Jim and Donna Newlin. Her mother is a registered nurse and SAG actress. Diandra spent time in New York City from 1997 - 2001 modeling with Wilhelmina Models and Product Model Management as well as filming commercials and movies.Diandra graduated with honors from Laurel Springs School in 2008. Pootie Tang, born in "a small town outside Gary, Indiana", is portrayed as a ladies' man who is "too cool for words", even as a young child.
