Disco Shanti is an Indian film actress and an "item song dancer" who worked predominantly in South Indian cinema. Shanti has also worked in several Hindi language movies apart from appearing in movies made in other Indian regional languages. She was noticed mainly for her erotic roles and mainly appeared for item numbers in songs. Shanti was also introduced as a heroine in several Tamil movies. She was not successful as an actress and hence she turned to be an item girl again. She has appeared / acted in over four dozen movies.

Disco Shanti is the daughter of Tamil actor "Vijayapuri Veeran" C.L Anandan. She has a younger sister actress Lalitha Kumari. She married Telugu actor Sri Hari in 1996 and stopped working in movies. Her husband Mr. Srihari, who had been suffering from a liver ailment for some time, complained of giddiness during the shooting of ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ being directed by Prabhu Deva with Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. Jesu and Peter are childhood friends who live in a coastal village in India and depend on fishing as their livelihood. The community is oppressed by a powerful gangster named Alphonso. Jesu is an orphan, while Peter is brought up by his aunt and uncle, after the death of his mother. The community is all thrilled when Phillips finds black pearls off the coast. Uma (Urvashi) marries Balu (Ramki), an honest civil engineer. Uma thinks that he is rich and receives lot of bribes but turns out Balu is from the middle-class like her. Uma is a miser and dreams to become rich. After few years, they have two children. In the meantime, Priya (Kushboo), the daughter of Balu's boss Rajasekhar (Rajasekhar), falls in love with Balu and asks him to marry her unaware of Balu's marriage and his two children. Balu refuses to marry her as he was already married but she compels him. When Priya meets Uma, she offers her one crore rupees in exchange for marrying Balu. Uma immediately agrees and she starts forcing Balu for remarriage. Finally, Balu agrees with heavy heart as Uma threatens to commit suicide. Soon, Balu also starts falling in love with Priya. Uma slowly realizes her mistake and wants to get Balu back. The rest of the story is what happen to Balu, Uma and Priya.

The film begins with Jayanthi (Jayasudha) gives birth to baby boy Chinna (Master Prabhu) in jail. Since Jayanti is a life imprisonment prisoner, she keeps sentry Shantamma (Nirmalamma) as her son's guardian. Papa Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao) maternal uncle to Jayanthi and his Hari (Srihari) always harasses Jayanti for her property. Krishna (Jagapathi Babu) a chronic bachelor, who hates women because his elder brother Krishna Mohan Rao (Raja) is killed by his lover. Radha (Soundarya) a young and beautiful girl falls in love with Krishna, but he rejects her love because of his hatred on women. Shantamma says Chinna that Krishna is his father, from that day Chinna follows him like white on rice, torches him a lot and also spoils marriage life of Krishna and Radha.
