Dominique Othenin-Girard (born 2 October 1958) is a Swiss French-speaking film and television director, and writer.

Girard was born to a French-speaking family in Le Locle, Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He is best known for directing Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Omen IV: The Awakening, and The Crusaders. His 1985 film After Darkness was entered into the 35th Berlin International Film Festival.

Marc Girard est un policier d'investigation en proie à la dépression et au suicide pour qui rien ne tourne rond. Algérie, mai 1859. Administrateur de la banque Bourg-Thibourg, en Haute Kabylie, Henry Dunant doit faire face à la révolte de colons affamés par une sécheresse chronique. Le jeune homme, issu de la grande bourgeoisie genevoise, n'en est pas moins ouvert aux questions sociales, révolté par les conditions de vie des indigènes et des pieds-noirs, décidé à soulager leur peine en œuvrant à l'édification d'un barrage. À cette fin, il va devoir plaider sa cause devant Napoléon III. En route vers Paris, Henry fait escale en Suisse dans la demeure familiale où il apprend le mariage prochain de son frère aîné Daniel avec Léonie Bourg-Thibourg, la fille de son employeur. Lors d'une fête donnée à cette occasion, Dunant s'effondre, victime d'une crise de paludisme. Il est soigné par son grand-père médecin, Hubert, et par l'assistante de ce dernier, Cécile, qu'il a connue enfant et qui est devenue une ravissante jeune femme. Convalescent, Henry reçoit la visite de son ami le journaliste Samuel Lowenthal, qui lui apprend que l'empereur des Français n'est pas aux Tuileries, mais sur les champs de bataille italiens, où il combat les troupes de François-Joseph Ier d'Autriche.

Virginia congressman Gene York (Michael Woods) and his attorney wife Karen (Faye Grant), after numerous failed attempts to have children, go to a nun-owned orphanage where they adopt a child that they name Delia from a nun named Sister Yvonne.
