Emily Rebecca Kinney (born August 15, 1985) is an American actress and singer, best known for her role as Beth Greene on AMC's horror drama television series The Walking Dead. Kinney has also had guest starring roles on several other television series.

Biography

Early life
Emily Kinney was born in Nebraska on August 15, 1985. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2006, and thereafter moved to New York City, where she began her acting career.


Acting
Emily Kinney made her Broadway debut in Spring Awakening, as Anna, in 2008. In 2009, she also appeared on the first national tour of Tracy Letts' play August: Osage County as Jean Fordham. Kinney has had recurring roles and guest appearances on television series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: SVU, The Good Wife, and The Big C. She was cast as Beth Greene in the AMC television series The Walking Dead in 2011. In 2013, Kinney was promoted to the main cast of The Walking Dead alongside Chad Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green.


Other ventures
She spent two years as a blogger, writing about her experiences as a young actress in New York on a blog hosted by Back Stage. The blog was discontinued in late 2012.


Musical career
Kinney officially became a singer when she released her EP called Blue Toothbrush in 2011. Kinney released her new EP, Expired Love, on October 22, 2013.


Personal life
Kinney is a vegetarian.
