Farrah Rachael Forke, sometimes credited as Farrah R. Forke (born January 12, 1968), is an American actress known for her role as Alex Lambert on the NBC sitcom Wings, and Mayson Drake on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She also voices the character Big Barda on the animated television series Batman Beyond and Justice League Unlimited.

Biography

Forke attended The Hockaday School, an all-girls private school in Dallas. She spent one year at Cullen Junior High in Corpus Christi where she was a cheerleader for that year. She also spent a year at North Side Middle School while living in Elkhart, Indiana.

She entered acting with a role in a Texas production of the musical The Rocky Horror Show. After moving to New York City and studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute, she made her feature debut in the 1991 film Brain Twisters (1991). Other roles would include the movies Whispers in the Dark, Heat (1995), and Kate's Addiction (1998), in which she and actress Kari Wuhrer play women in a lesbian love affair, and the TV-movies Journey to the Center of the Earth (NBC, 1993); Complex of Fear (CBS, 1993); Bionic Ever After? (CBS, 1994), a Bionic Woman movie; and Abandoned and Deceived (ABC, 1995).

She became best known as Alex Lambert, a former U.S. Army Apache helicopter pilot during Operation Desert Storm who afterward ran a Nantucket Island helicopter service for two seasons on the NBC sitcom Wings. The part was a recurring role during the 1992-93 season, and a regular cast role the following year.

In 1989, at age 21, she underwent plastic surgery to receive silicone breast implants, however the implants later ruptured and caused health complications for Forke, who had them removed four years later in February 1993. On March 24, 1994, she filed a lawsuit in Houston against Dow Corning, the Dow Chemical Company, the Inamed Corporation and the McGhan Corporation.

Forke had a recurring role on Lois and Clark as Mayson Drake, an attorney who considered Superman a vigilante yet held a candle for Clark Kent. Her character was killed by a car bombing in a noted scene where Clark attempts to shield her from the blast, causing a partial revealing of his Superman uniform. Drake dies before confiding in Kent that she should have known an honorable man like him was Superman. Forke would once again take part in the Superman universe voicing the character Big Barda on an episode of Superman: The Animated Series. Farrah would go on to reprise the role in three episodes of Batman Beyond and Justice League Unlimited, animated shows set in the same universe.

After Wings, Forke played Carey, an office manager for a computer software company, in the 1995 CBS sitcom Dweebs (1995), and then, from 1996 to 1997, a prep school teacher in NBC's Mr. Rhodes . She also appeared on Ned and Stacey with her old Wings (NBC TV series) cast mate Thomas Haden Church.

Farrah also was the voice woman of several high end companies such as Cadillac and Arbys. Recently Farrah has taken a break from the acting community, and currently lives in Houston, Texas where she is raising her twin boys, and makes occasional appearances at comic book conventions.

Farrah is set to play Laurie in the sci-fi film Fractals which finished filming in September 2013.

A couple of student nurses decide to join some doctors to work in a medical station in the rain-forest a few hours flying-time from the Mexican town Catemaco. As they fly from Catemaco towards the clinic (which actually consists of just a few huts and almost no equipment) one of their three planes goes down because of engine malfunction. It crashes somewhere in the middle of the jungle causing bad injuries to the passengers. The following day describes the attempts by the passengers to save their own lives in spite of the few poor chances they seem to have. There is almost no medicine available, the supplies they brought with them were all on the plane going down and were stolen by native drug-dealers when they arrived at the site of the crash first. In the afternoon they decide to take the injured to a nearby village with a runway long enough that the Learjet of the Californian Air Rescue team could take them to a clinic in the U.S. Not only is the journey there very complicated (one of the injured could pass away any minute) but it may also be futile: due to recent anti-drug operations no plane is allowed to fly after dark, so the Air Rescue Team is not able to get clearance for their mission. Dr. Daniel Perrin sets off to Catamaco to persuade the authorities into giving their permission for the flight while the rest is trying to get to the runway by dawn.
