Florian Ballhaus (born 1965) is a German cinematographer who has worked on several recent major Hollywood releases.
In 2005, he earned praise for his work in the thriller Flightplan. Later he reunited with David Frankel, one of the Sex and the City directors, for The Devil Wears Prada.

Biography
Ballhaus was born in Baden-Baden, Germany, the son of Helga Mavia Betten and noted German cinematographer Michael Ballhaus. At the age of 17, he moved to the U.S. with his family, when his father began working on American films such as After Hours. He began working as a second cinematographer's assistant and then later as a camera assistant and operator. He returned to Germany in his adulthood to make his own name in his father's profession, debuting in episodes of the television show, Alles außer Mord, then in 1996 with Sandman. He returned to the U.S. seven years later to shoot episodes of Sex and the City.In 2005, he earned praise for his work in the thriller Flightplan. Later he reunited with David Frankel, one of the Sex and the City directors, for The Devil Wears Prada.

Avril 1945. L'Allemagne nazie, en plein chaos, vit ses dernières heures avant de capituler. The story begins five days after the assault on the Abnegation faction by Erudite leader Jeanine's mind-controlled Dauntless soldiers. Dauntless leader Eric and his platoon search through the wreckage of Abnegation for a box of unknown origin that contains the symbols for each faction. They recover the box and take it to Erudite. British art curator Harry Deane (Colin Firth) decides to seek revenge on his abusive boss Lord Shabandar (Alan Rickman) by conning him into buying a fake Monet ("Haystacks at Dusk"), a painting that has been missing since 1945, after being plundered by the Nazis. He teams up with a master art forger, the Major, and travels to Alpine, Texas to find rodeo queen, PJ Puznowski (Cameron Diaz) whom he plans to recruit in his scheme. Harry envisions the plan in his head, and goes to a bar to talk to PJ. PJ's friend Merle, angered by his advances, punches Harry in the face and a bar fight is started. PJ walks outside to find Harry and the Major cleaning their wounds, and they talk to her about the deal. She agrees and the next day the three drive out to PJ's grandmother's mobile home out in the desert. They hang the fake Monet on the wall and take a picture with the painting in the background. The picture is to appear with an article on the rodeo queen that will be published in a magazine that is part of Shabandar's media empire.

Thomas "Tom" Popper (Jim Carrey) is a divorced real-estate entrepreneur whose father traveled around the world during his childhood. He learns that his father has died during an adventure to Antarctica and discovers that his father's will asks for his son to be given a souvenir from his last adventure. The next week, a crate containing a gentoo penguin (Captain) shows up at his doorstep. Eventually, five more penguins arrive.
