Biography
Francisco Lara Polop a d'abord travaillé comme directeur de production, jusqu'à ce qu'il fonde sa propre maison de production. Il tourne son premier film en 1972, avec Pedro Lazaga, qui s'appelle La Maison de la brune, puis deux ans plus tard, il tourne seul des films dramatiques comme La Perversion pour un adolescent en 1974, El Vicio y la virtud en 1975, Obsession où il fait découvrir Victoria Abril, Les Déracinées en 1976, Climax en 1977. En 1980, il est diplômé de l'école officielle de cinématographie (EOC), puis en 1983, il gagne le C.I.F.E.J. Award avec la mention « Honorable Film » pour son film El Cabezota.Francisco Lara Polop termine sa vie comme guide touristique au monastère de l'Escurial.

The story is set in Madrid in the late 1940s early 1950s during the first years of Franco’s regime. Pedro Martín, a young ambitious doctor, is studying the effect of cancerous cells on mice, but he has run out of mice in his laboratory, since they do not breed there, and he has no funds to purchase more of these expensive laboratory animals from the United States. Nevertheless, his assistant, Amador, informs him that he gave some of the mice to an old trapper, nicknamed "el Muecas", who lives in precarious conditions in a shanty town outside Madrid, and that this poor man has successfully bred them with the help of the natural heat of his daughters. The incredulous scientist goes to the shanty town to obtain the mice. There, Pedro meets Muecas, Muecas's wife Ricarda and their two daughters Florita and Conchi. With the warmth of the women’s breasts, as the flirtatious Florita shows Pedro, the mice are able to reproduce.

Count Dracula's Great Love opens outside a creepy old smoke-filled sanitarium in the Carpathian mountains as two delivery men arrive with a large, heavy man-shaped crate. The owner, Doctor Wendell Marlow (Paul Naschy), has just purchased the sanitarium but has not yet moved in. Realizing that these rich castle-owning types have money and jewels just lying around, they decide to wander about and see if there is anything they can steal. One is struck in the head with an axe and the other gets his throat ripped out by a man in a black cape with velvet lining.

Martha is an attractive housewife living in a small rural apartment house in the outskirt of Madrid. Her husband, Carlos, leaves frequently on business trips so Martha spends most of her time alone with her pet cat, Fedra, as her only companion. While Carlos is away, Martha hears heavy footsteps in the apartment above her. Her sexy upstairs neighbor, Julia, is in a similar situation. Victor, Julia's husband, happens to be away this time as well. After overhearing a few things, Martha, already prone to fantasizing away her boredom and loneliness, begins to suspect that Julia has killed her sick husband. Julia claims that Victor left for business reasons. Martha does not believe her and begins to investigate. She soon discovers that nobody has seen Julia's husband leaving town which seems to confirm Martha's theory. Adding to Martha's suspicions, Julia keeps asking to put stuff in her fridge, even though her own refrigerator is clearly working. On top of this, someone is secretly feeding something to the landlord's dogs. When Rita, Matha's close friend, stops for a visit with her young daughter, Yolanda, Martha tells her that she thinks Julia has a lover and that they both had killed Victor. Unfortunately the imprudent Yolanda tells Julia that Martha said that she had a lover.
