Friedrich Anton Maria Hubertus Bonifacius Graf von Ledebur-Wicheln ((1900-06-03)June 3, 1900 - December 25, 1986(1986-12-25)) was an actor who was known for Moby Dick (1956), Alexander the Great (1955) and Slaughterhouse-Five (1972).
Ledebur was born in Austria-Hungary (later Poland) in 1900. Friedrich enlisted in the Austro-Hungarian Imperial Army in 1916 and was an officer in the Austrian Cavalry Division during the last years of World War I.
In 1945, von Ledebur made his film debut. He later appeared in Alexander the Great (1955), and played chief harpooneer Queequeg, a South Sea chieftan, in the film Moby Dick (1956). "Better a sober cannibal than a drunken Christian," Herman Melville's Ishmael famously says of Queequeg in the book and the film.
À la télévision, il figure dans quelques séries et téléfilms, tant aux États-Unis qu'en Europe. En France, il est plus particulièrement connu pour avoir incarné Erik XIV, roi de Kurlande, dans le feuilleton La Demoiselle d'Avignon (1972).

À la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale, Friedrich von Ledebur est officier de cavalerie dans l'armée autrichienne. Plus tard, il part aux États-Unis où il participe à son premier film en 1945. De nombreux autres suivront, dont plusieurs réalisés par John Huston — notamment Moby Dick en 1956, où l'acteur joue l'un de ses rôles les plus marquants (Queequeg), en compagnie de son ex-épouse, Iris Tree —. Remarquée également est sa prestation dans Alexandre le Grand, cette même année 1956. Dans les années 1960 et 1970, il apparaît aussi dans des productions allemandes et italiennes. The film follows the novel in presenting a first-person narrative from the point of view of Billy Pilgrim (Sacks), who becomes "unstuck in time" and experiences the events of his life in a seemingly random order, including a period spent on the alien planet of Tralfamadore. Particular emphasis is placed on his experiences during World War II, including the bombing of Dresden in World War II, as well as time spent with fellow prisoners of war Edgar Derby (Roche) and the psychopathic Paul Lazzaro (Leibman).
