Gabriel Porras (born Carlos Gabriel Porras Flores, February 13, 1968 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican actor. He began his acting career working for TV Azteca in telenovelas like "Tres Veces Sofia" along with Mexican diva Lucía Méndez and "El Tio Alberto". His acting career strengthened when he played his first protagonist role in a "El Alma Herida", a telenovela, produced by Telemundo which is owned by NBC Universal. In "El Alma Herida" he shared credits along with Mexican actress Itatí Cantoral with whom he had a relationship in real life.

The film tells the story of Rosario (Kate del Castillo), a mother who illegally immigrates to the United States, and her nine-year-old son, Carlitos (Adrián Alonso). Rosario and Carlitos have not seen each other in four years, since Carlitos was five. Rosario, now living in Los Angeles, California, calls her son, (still in Mexico), every Sunday at 10 A.M. from a payphone. Carlitos lives in a small Mexican village with his sick grandmother and his oppressive aunt and uncle, who try to take custody of him in order to get the money that Rosario sends to him. One day, while working for a woman named Carmen (Carmen Salinas), Carlitos encounters two American immigrant transporters (coyotes), Martha (America Ferrera) and David (Jesse Garcia), who offer to smuggle small children across the border.

On a dark Mexican roadside, Claudio calls his friends and tells them he needs to meet them. Claudio tells them he is being extorted by two policemen after running someone over. Two corrupt cops demand 200,000 pesos to cover up the manslaughter charge for the accident. Vampiro thinks the only way Claudio can get the money quickly, is to stage his own kidnapping and get Claudio's rich father to pay.
