Gayathrie Shankar is a Tamil film actress, who has appeared in leading roles. Her debut film, N. Krishna's Yen Ippadi Mayakkinai remains unreleased, though she made a breakthrough after featuring in the cult comedy Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom.

Biography

Gayathrie's family is of Tamil origin and her home town is Bangalore, Karnataka. Her grandfather from Trichy worked as an army officer, while both of her parents work as bankers. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.

She got her first film offer when she was in 12th class and took it up. She considered acting "just a dream" and stated that she "never really planned on working towards it or taking it seriously as a career." She said that she had stage fright and was afraid of public speaking but that she got over it once she started acting. She has also said that she is "a gypsy at heart" and that she would "have travelled and done something related to psychology" if she hadn't become an actress.

In Nadodimannan, Padmanabhan (Dileep) plays a village youth who does not have a particular inclination towards any political party and joins any protest being held. Bollywood actor Sayaji Shinde plays the local king pin who is at odds with Padmanabhan.Currently this movie is going well and getting mixed reviews both from audience and critics.The performance of the Dileep and other actors is good. Highlight of the movie is the demolition techniques shown in the climax, which is new to mollywood. Another highlight of this movie is that it touches some social issues.

Prem Kumar (Vijay Sethupathi) is all set to get married to his lover Dhanalakshmi (Gayathrie Shankar). Two days before his wedding, Prem decides to try his hand at playing cricket with his friends — Bagavathi (Bagavathi Perumal), Balaji Tharaneetharan (Rajkumar) and Saras (Vigneswaran). The game gets a little serious as Prem in a bid to catch a ball falls down only to get injured in his head. He quickly gets back on his toes as the injury is not serious. But soon after the match, the friends are in for a shock. Due to the injury, Prem develops short term memory loss, wherein he remembers the chain of events which leads to the injury but forgets the last one year of his life. He remembers his life till college and recognizes his friends, but is clueless about his upcoming wedding and about Dhanalakshmi herself, as it is during the last one year that he met her, fell in love with her and decided to marry her. Fearing trouble, his friends take him to a doctor, who says that he could recover anytime. Hence, his friends plan to keep him in their company, enact a drama till he ties the wedding knot, with the hope that he would get back his memory soon, while covering Prem's disorder from everyone else. In the end, everything works out well, and Prem gets his memory back.
