George Macready (August 29, 1899 – July 2, 1973), was an American stage, film, and television actor often cast in roles as polished villains.

Biography

An art collector, Macready was a partner with colleague Vincent Price in a Beverly Hills art gallery in the 1940s. The two friends later closed it as their acting careers developed. Macready died of emphysema in 1973 and had his body donated to a medical school.

He was the father of actor/producer Michael Macready and the grandfather of the gymnast John Macready.
