Ravinder Kapoor (15 December 1940 – 3 March 2011), popularly known as Goga Kapoor, was an Indian film actor, who appeared mostly in Bollywood films. He had played supporting roles of that of villain's henchmen or that of gangster. He is mostly remembered as Kans in the TV serial Mahabharat, Daku Shaitan Singh in the film Toofan, Dinkar Rao in the film Agneepath and as the Don in the film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. His other notable works include films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Run.

Deshu (Randeep Hooda) is a mechanic in Dubai, who has come home after his mother's death. His father is a dry, gruff police constable. Deshu unwittingly becomes a witness to a murder, when Mangli Bhai's goons chase a man, burst into his chawl, and proceed to kill the man right there. Roughened up by the police to act as a witness, and threatened by the goons to not do so, Deshu keeps his mouth shut. Later, he joins a rival gang (Hashim Bhai's), and proceeds to kill Mangli. Little by little, with his bravery and intelligence he manages to become Bhai's right-hand man, much to the dismay of his two sons, Muqarram and Shabbir.

A mother gives birth to twins. The twins' father was an Indian Army officer who died in war. Unfortunately, they are separated at the end of the war when their father was celebrating their recent success in a battle with Pakistan. One of the twins end up in the neighboring Pakistan and is brought up as a Muslim named Tauheed. He was brought up by a terrorist who told him that his mother had died in an attack of Indian army, while the other grows up as a Hindu named Ajay. Ajay is a novelist. With the ongoing rivalry and hatred between the two countries, both find themselves on the opposite side, and must battle each other. The Central Bureau of Investigations Chief briefs his men that a group of terrorists are about to strike terror in India, and he points out the options they have for combating them. They go over the list of operatives they have, and decide to pick Agent Miss 420 (Sheeba Akashdeep) for this job, which she accepts. Before she can even begin her investigations, she is killed in her car with an explosive device. A news-reporter, Arvind (Aashif Sheikh), comes across come damning evidence against a underworld gangster by the name of Diwan Kapoor (Mohan Joshi) alias DK. But before he could even tender this evidence to relevant authorities, he is abducted by DK's men, then imprisoned and tortured. Arvind's sister, Anamika (also played by Sheeba), and her boyfriend, Vicky (Baba Sehgal), go to look for Arvind. What Vicky does not know is that Anamika is not who she claims to be, she is Miss 420, and that they are entering a web of lies and deceit, from which few have returned alive.

Inspector Arjun is an honest and diligent police officer. He has an older stepbrother named Bhishma, and a younger brother named Suraj. While Bhishma lives with their mother in the village, Arjun and Suraj live in the city. Suraj gets employed at a poultry farm, but finds out that this is just a front for drugs like cocaine. His attempts to get this information to the police and his brother are in vain, as he is captured by the owners of the poultry farm, who owe their allegiance to notorious gangster Dhaman Chamunda. When Dhaman comes to know about Suraj, he decides to teach Arjun and Bhishma a lesson – first by splitting them up over the property they own in the village, then by framing Bhishma for the death of Suraj. With anger and hostilities reigning high amongst the two remaining brothers, the Chamunda Brothers decide to take full advantage of this situation, and watch in glee as the two brothers go against each other, in a fight to death. Bhishma and Arjun clear their misunderstandings but when their stepmother is killed by the Chamunda Brothers they unite and kill them one by one until eventually destroying their empire.

Mala works as a school-teacher and had a great dream that her bridegroom will arrive on a horse and her marriage will be done in a great pomp and ceremony. One day her friend confides in her about her love affair with the son of a wealthy man, who has been intimate with her, but now is marrying someone else. Mala accompanies her friend to this male's wedding, disrupts it, and eventually ends up getting it cancelled. The groom's friend, Raj, is enraged and insults Mala, in response to which she slaps him. Enraged all the more, Raj seeks Mala out, and in the presence of her pupils, brutally slaps and then rapes her by getting off her clothes. Then she walks without any clothes with her pupils who hides her body with umbrella as it was raining and all the passers-by beholds her, and when her father looks her in this way he throws a piece of cloth on her to cover her body . The police get involved and Raj is arrested.

Inspector Amar (Amitabh Bachchan) is an honest and dedicated police officer who discovers that underworld don Brijbhan (Anupam Kher) is behind all the terrorist activities in India. Orphaned at a very young age, Raju lives a poor lifestyle with his unmarried sister, Laxmi, in India. Both are of marriageable age. One day Raju meets an attractive fellow-collegian, Parul, and after a few encounters with another fellow-collegian, Bobby, both fall in love. But Parul's uncle, Jagpal, has already arranged her marriage with Police Inspector Suryadev Singh. When Suryadev finds out that Parul is refusing to marry him, he arrests Raju on a charge of murder, holds him in a cell, and beats him mercilessly. Laxmi, quite dramatically, takes a gun from a policeman, and helps Raju escape so as to prevent Parul from being forcibly married to Suryadev. They do manage to arrive in time, only to find out that Parul has consumed poison and killed herself. Raju is beside himself with rage, but is captured by the police, and watches helplessly as Parul is cremated. His horrors have not ended as Suryadev sexually assault's Laxmi and leaves her in a mentally unstable condition.
