Carrière
Gregory Sporleder est diplômé de la University City Senior High School de University City, près de Saint-Louis.

Il obtient son premier rôle dans Un monde pour nous en 1989, aux côtés de John Cusack.

En 1994, il apparaît dans le clip All I Wanna Do de Sheryl Crow pendant plusieurs mois, jusqu’à la nomination de Sheryl Crow pour un Grammy Award. À cette époque, la partie où Sporleder apparaît fut coupée. La vidéo avec Sporleder est diffusée dans le monde entier pendant un certain temps.

Il enchaîne ensuite les seconds rôles dans des films comme Une équipe hors du commun ou True Romance, ainsi que dans des épisodes de Murphy Brown et New York Police Blues.

In the town of Ogden Marsh, Iowa, David Dutten (Timothy Olyphant), the local sheriff is enjoying a baseball game. His deputy, Russell Clank (Joe Anderson), spots Rory Hamill, a local resident (and the town drunk who's has been sober for two years), entering the outfield holding a shotgun. David, knowing his history, and owing to his behaviour, believes he has started drinking again. David is forced to shoot and kill the unresponsive Rory when he raised his weapon and aimed it at the Sheriff. David and his wife Judy (Radha Mitchell), the community doctor, begin to notice other town residents exhibiting bizarre behavior, including listlessness and repetitive speech. The next night, a local farmer burns his house down with his wife and son trapped inside, killing them. By the time firefighters and other townspeople arrive, he is found mowing his lawn while his house burns.

While in Central City, Louisiana, orphans Andi (Emma Roberts) and Bruce (Jake T. Austin) manage to sell a rock in a box to a pawn shop to buy food for their dog, Friday, a Jack Russell Terrier. However, they are quickly caught and marched off to the police station, where their social worker, Bernie Wilkins (Don Cheadle) picks them up and takes them back to their foster parents, Lois and Carl Scudder (Lisa Kudrow and Kevin Dillon, respectively), who appear not to care for either Andi or Bruce. When the two demand to know where their foster children have been, Bernie covers for them, telling them that it was his fault they were late. Despite his sympathies towards the two siblings, he warns them that they are playing a dangerous game by deliberately getting into trouble in order to escape Carl and Lois, since they could get fostered separately, something that both orphans are desperate to avoid. During Bernie's visit, Friday returns home and Bruce quickly bustles Bernie out of the door, since Friday's presence is to be kept secret.

A.J.
