Lorsque l’on retrouve le corps de Gottlieb Dornhelm, le beau-fils du directeur de l'Opéra, et que la police conclut à un suicide, le Tout-Salzbourg pousse un soupir de soulagement. En publiant récemment un livre où il révélait les sévices qu'il avait subis étant jeune, dans un internat religieux, le suicidé ne s'était pas fait que des amis. Persuadée que la police a mené une enquête de complaisance, la ravissante veuve Konstance Dornhelm engage le détective Simon Brenner pour tenter de découvrir la vérité. Pour être recueilli au monastère de l’internat, il se déguise en sans-abri et plonge dans le monde vicié du silence religieux. Aidé de son vieil ami Berti devenu coursier pour l’Opéra, il s’infiltre dans les coulisses du festival de Salzbourg. En se mettant à enquêter sur tout ce que la ville de Mozart et de Freud compte de soutanes et de tutus, Brenner soulèvera quelques vérités qui ne sentent pas forcément très bon.

Julius Caesar is celebrating his victory over all of Gaul, but Lucius Detritus has kept from him that one village has managed to resist them. Detritus travels to the garrison near the village where Caius Bonus (Crismus Bonus), the garrison's commanding Centurion, explains that the Gauls have a magic potion, which makes them invincible. Detritus decides to capture the potion for himself, and hearing that the clever Asterix and permanently invincible Obelix are the backbone of the Gaulish forces, attempts and fails to eliminate them.

In 1625 France, following in his late father's footsteps, D'Artagnan (Chris O'Donnell) sets off to Paris in hopes of becoming a member of the Musketeers, a band of men sworn to serve and protect the King of France. D'Artagnan is pursued by Gérard and his brothers, who accuse him of blemishing their sister's honor. Gérard saw his sister kissing d'Artagnan goodbye or as d'Artagnan put it "she wanted to give me something to remember her by!" At Musketeer Headquarters, Captain Rochefort (Michael Wincott) and the cardinal's guards have disbanded the musketeers as per the orders of Cardinal Richelieu (Tim Curry), the King's minister, ostensibly to help fight in an impending war with England. Rochefort confides to the Cardinal that there are three musketeers that have refused to relinquish their duties: Athos (Kiefer Sutherland), Porthos (Oliver Platt), and Aramis (Charlie Sheen).

The final years of the short life of Egon Schiele, the Austrian expressionist painter are chronicled against the backdrop of the final years of the Habsburg rule. The story begins around 1912 as Schiele (Mathieu Carriere) and his mistress and artistic muse Wally (Jane Birkin) are befriended by an obsessed teenage girl (Karina Fallenstein) who has run away to be with Schiele. Subsequently Schiele is imprisoned on the grounds that he has behaved in a sexually improper way towards the young woman. The young woman falsely accuses Schiele and although he denies the charge he is imprisoned. The girl withdraws her accusations but Schiele is requested to leave the area as he has offended the social mores of the conservative society in which he was living. Those offended include his mother (Angelika Hauff) who rails against his lax morals.

The story concerns an experimental nuclear cruise missile which is stolen from a Soviet military site in the USSR. An international terrorist group, under the command of a European power-crazed man known only as the Baron is responsible. The Baron plots to use the stolen Soviet missile to destroy an international peace conference in one week located on an island in the Persian Gulf. When the U.S. counsul to Iran is murdered by the Baron's henchmen, Alec Franklin, an US intelligence agent, is ordered to travel to Iran to take over as counsul as well as investigate the murder. Upon arrival in Tehran, Alec is followed by two of the Baron's henchmen whom attempt to kill him, but Alec manages to escape.

Franz Woyzeck, a lowly soldier stationed in a provincial German town, is the father of an illegitimate child by his mistress Marie. Woyzeck earns extra money for his family by performing menial jobs for the Captain and agreeing to take part in medical experiments conducted by the Doctor. As one of these experiments, the Doctor tells Woyzeck he must eat nothing but peas. It is obvious that Woyzeck's mental health is breaking down and he begins to experience a series of apocalyptic visions. Meanwhile, Marie grows tired of Woyzeck and turns her attentions to a handsome drum major, who in an ambiguous scene taking place in Marie's bedroom, arguably rapes her.

Le jeune chirurgien Kristian Keller est un médecin idéaliste. Depuis longtemps, il est dégoûté par l'égoïsme et de la cupidité de nombreux collègues qui ne veulent plus aider les malades, comme son chef de service, le professeur Gaspardi, aussi satisfait de lui que vaniteux et autoritaire, et avec qui il est souvent en conflit. Plus d'une fois les deux hommes s'affrontent et Gaspardi ne manque pas de rappeler qui est le chef et qui est le subordonné. Par ailleurs, Keller a une liaison avec Detta, la jeune épouse du professeur. Elle est de plus en plus dégoûtée par le comportement et de la vanité de son mari et elle vit son mariage comme un échec depuis longtemps. En pleine nuit, le 5 septembre 1972 alors que les jeux olympiques battent leur plein, un groupe de huit palestiniens s'introduit dans un bâtiment du village olympique hébergeant les athlètes de la délégation israélienne. Ils prennent en otage un groupe d'israéliens et abattent deux fuyards dès les premiers instants. Puis leur entraineur meurt à son tour. Il reste alors huit hommes entre les mains des palestiniens. Ces derniers veulent la libération de leurs frères retenus dans les prisons israéliennes en échange de leurs otages. Mais les négociations trainent et n'aboutissent pas. La position délicate de l'Allemagne face au peuple israélien n'est que suggérée dans le film, mais est dans les esprits de tous en raison du souvenir amer qu'a laissé la Seconde Guerre mondiale, ne laisse pas au gouvernement allemand de cette époque le droit à l'erreur. Pourtant tout cela va se finir dans un bain de sang atroce inévitable.
