Hugo Leverdez est né le 28 février 1998 à Paris, dans le 17e arrondissement de la capitale française. Il est élevé par ses deux parents (Olivier et Virginie) dans sa ville natale, aux côtés de sa petite sœur Camille. Il a étudié à Courbevoie, à l'école élémentaire Armand Silvestre.

Représenté par son agent Anne Ucla à l'agence Act1, il est repéré au cours d'un casting par la réalisatrice Roselyne Bosch. Cette dernière lui confie le rôle de Joseph Weismann dans le film La Rafle, un long-métrage où il donne la réplique à Jean Reno, Mélanie Laurent et Gad Elmaleh. Depuis, Ses interprétations et ses passages à l'écran sont plus rares.

Jo Weisman, a young Jewish Parisian, and his family are taken by the Nazis and Vichy collaborators in the rafle du Vel' d'Hiv. Anna Traube, a 20-year-old woman, walks out of the velodrome with forged papers; her mother and sister are captured. Annette Monod, a Protestant nurse, volunteers for the velodrome, and assists Jewish doctor David Sheinbaum. From the Vélodrome d'Hiver Jo's family and Sheinbaum are transferred to the Beaune-la-Rolande internment camp. Monod comes along. She does what she can to help the children, who are soon falling sick from the camp diet and conditions.
