Jacques Bergerac (26 May 1927 – 15 June 2014) was a French actor, who later became a business executive with Revlon.
Bergerac met and married Ginger Rogers, with whom he appeared in Twist of Fate (1954) (also known as Beautiful Stranger). He then went on to appear as Armand Duval in a television production of Camille for Kraft Television Theatre, opposite Signe Hasso. He played the Comte de Provence in Jean Delannoy's film, Marie Antoinette Queen of France.
In Strange Intruder (1956), he shared the screen with Edmund Purdom and Ida Lupino, and in Les Girls (1957), he played the second male lead. He also appeared in Gigi (1958), Thunder in the Sun (1959), the cult horror film The Hypnotic Eye (1960), and A Global Affair (1964). In 1957, he received the Golden Globe Award for Foreign Newcomer.
He divorced Rogers in 1957. In 1959, he married Dorothy Malone; the couple had two children. The marriage ended in divorce in 1964. He appeared in a few more films and on television, including Batman, 77 Sunset Strip, Alfred Hitchcock Presents (3 episodes), The Lucy Show, and Get Smart, The Dick Van Dyke Show. His last appearance was on an episode of The Doris Day Show in 1969, after which he left show business and became the head of Revlon's Paris office. His younger brother Michel became CEO of Revlon six years later.

Biography
Dans les années 1950, Jacques Bergerac quitte son Pays basque natal avec dix francs en poche et part s'installer à Hollywood. Il joue alors de son côté « french lover », très en vogue à l'époque, pour se faire une place parmi les stars. Il épouse en 1953 l'actrice Ginger Rogers dont il divorce en 1957, puis en 1959 l'actrice Dorothy Malone, avec laquelle il reste marié jusqu'en 1964. Le 21 juin 1975, il épouse Edithe Brennan qui sera sa compagne jusqu'à la fin. Il enchaîne des petits rôles dans les grosses productions du moment. Pendant quinze ans, il côtoie les plus grandes stars de l'après-guerre, dînant aux côtés d'Ava Gardner, Gary Cooper et Humphrey Bogart, au restaurant « Chez Romanoff », meilleure adresse du Hollywood de ces années-là. Ses souvenirs, riches en anecdotes croustillantes, sont rassemblés dans Une table chez Romanoff.Après sa dernière apparition à l'écran, en 1969, il se reconvertit dans les affaires et dirige le bureau parisien de la compagnie de cosmétiques Revlon et les parfums Pierre Balmain.

Set in turn-of-the-20th century Paris, the film opens with Honoré Lachaille (Maurice Chevalier) among high society in the Bois de Boulogne. A charming old roué, he cynically remarks that "Like everywhere else, most people in Paris get married, but not all. There are some who will not marry, and some who do not marry. But in Paris, those who will not marry are usually men, and those who do not marry are usually women." So marriage is not the only option for wealthy young bon vivants like his nephew Gaston (Louis Jourdan), who is bored with life. The one thing Gaston truly enjoys is spending time with Madame Alvarez (Hermione Gingold), whom he calls Mamita, and especially her granddaughter, the precocious, carefree Gilberte, aka Gigi who is 15 (Leslie Caron). Following the family tradition, Madame Alvarez sends Gigi to her sister, Great Aunt Alicia (Isabel Jeans), to be groomed as a courtesan and learn etiquette and charm. To Alicia, love is an art, and a necessary accomplishment for Gigi's social and economic future. But Gigi, shows disdain for such trivial love that a man and his mistress usually has. Remaining true to her girlish, yet charming personality, she finds herself having the most fun when with Gaston (35) whom she regards as an older brother.

Pacos le Maltais (Jean Chevrier) est un chef de gang à Marseille. Il chasse de la bande Rolf - dit le Chinois (Henri San Juan) - parce qu'il a tué une femme au cours d'une attaque de banque, et que Pacos ne veut pas de meurtre dans ses hold-ups. Le médecin, qui a versé la rançon, souhaite retrouver son fils et régler l'affaire sans l'aide de la police, car la femme de Pacos, ancienne infirmière (Madeleine Robinson), l'avait lui-même aidé. Pacos le Maltais va donc engager une véritable chasse à l'homme à Marseille qui se termine sur le port.
