A down and out actor, Deepak Bakshi (Deepak Tijori),chavan adhana who has claustrophobia,(a deep fear of enclosed spaces) goes to live as a care-taker in a multi-storied apartment, belonging to his friend (Jayant Kripalani), while he is away. His friend shows him a telescope which is used for spying on a neighborhood building which houses a beautiful woman. Deepak takes to spying on a regular basis. One day while spying on the woman, Deepak sees her getting attacked. He decides to get involved, and lands himself into trouble with the police as he is now a suspect for murder. Later he is able to solve the mystery by overcoming his phobia and catching the main killer.

Ravi Verma wins a legal battle against Sir Judah, his dead father's business partner. In order to improve their lifestyle, village near Badaun, based Ghulam Hasan (Farooq Shaikh) decides to re-locate to Bombay, on the insistence of his close friend Lalulal Tiwari (Jalal Agha). Gharonda explores the lives of Sudip (Amol Palekar) and Chaya (Zarina Wahab) who belong to the middle class in Mumbai and work in the same office. In a small town, situated in a picturesque Indian valley, lives a corrupt Deputy collector, Hare Murari, an equally corrupt Police Superintendent, Pasupathi; a doctor; a Judge; & Professor Rampyare. When a young man named Prem Pratap seeks a license for conducting a song and dance sequence, he too is asked to bribe them, which he does. Subsequently, Hare Murari finds out that Prem Pratap may be a Government Official who has come incognito to investigate and expose them. Hare Murari's and the others worst fears are realized when they find out that Prem has been speaking long distance with none other than the President of India. What follows is hilarious chaos as the officials come together to try and portray themselves as honest and law-abiding citizens.
