James Brian Mark Purefoy (born 3 June 1964) is an English actor, who is best known for portraying Mark Antony in the HBO series Rome, and for his role as Joe Carroll, a professor-turned-serial-killer in the TV series The Following.

Biography

Purefoy has a son, Joseph (b. 1997) from his first marriage to the actress Holly Aird. With the documentary director/producer Jessica Adams he has a daughter, Rose, who was born in New York in 2012. They were married in Somerset, England in July 2014.

He is a supporter of Yeovil Town.
