Jay H. Harrington III (born November 15, 1971) is an American actor. He is known for his role as the title character in the ABC sitcom Better Off Ted.

Biography

Harrington est né dans l'État du Massachusetts où il a grandi et il étudia à l'université de Syracuse avant de se lancer dans une carrière dans le théâtre et au cinéma.

Actuellement, il vit à Los Angeles et est un grand fan de sports et joue même dans une association de la National Basketball Association.

À la télévision, il joua le rôle d'un directeur d'école dans Summerland, un agent du FBI dans The Inside : Dans la tête des tueurs, dans Six Sexy et fit des apparitions plus mineures dans des séries comme The Shield ou Sarah.

Shortly after graduating from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, Geralyn Lucas lands her dream job working for 20/20. Lucas is then diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 27 and has a dilemma - whether to have a lumpectomy or the potentially safer mastectomy. After consulting several doctors (including her husband) and researching the operations she decides to undergo a mastectomy. Her subsequent chemotherapy treatment leads to tensions within her marriage but the couple stays together. She also has breast reconstruction. The final shot is of Geralyn cradling her child, something she feared she would be unable to do. Geralyn meets several "angels" in the story, people who have been in similar positions to her and are able to dispense good advice.

Adele August (Susan Sarandon) is an eccentric woman who, with her reluctant daughter Ann (Natalie Portman), leaves a small Wisconsin town and moves to Beverly Hills to realize her dreams. However, it becomes apparent that Adele is uncertain of what those dreams are - expressing ideas such as marrying a rich man - and often makes irresponsible and impulsive decisions, including a used Mercedes she cannot afford in order to drive to Beverly Hills. While upset with Adele's decisions, the more practical Ann finds she cannot leave her mother and resents her for leaving Ann's stepfather for a better life. Furthermore, Ann still loves her father, who left her family when Ann was still young.
