Jay Waverly North (born August 3, 1951) is an American actor. Beginning a prolific career as a child actor at the age of six, he became a household name during the early 1960s for his role as the well-meaning but mischievous Dennis Mitchell on the CBS situation comedy Dennis the Menace, based on the comic strip created by Hank Ketcham.

As a teen, North moved on to roles in the MGM feature films Zebra in the Kitchen and Maya, as well as starring in the NBC television series adaptation of the film, also titled Maya. As an adult, he turned to voice acting work for animated television series, voicing the roles of Prince Turhan in the Arabian Knights segment of The Banana Splits Adventure Hour and a teenaged Bamm-Bamm Rubble on The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show.

After leaving show business and disclosing the truth of a troubled childhood as a child actor, North began working with fellow former child star Paul Petersen and the organization, A Minor Consideration, using his experiences as a child performer to counsel other children working within the entertainment industry.

Biography

On March 2, 1991, North married his second wife, Rositia. The couple had met on a blind date but separated only 3 months after their wedding. On April 14, 1992, North met caterer Cindy Hackney at a party after a charity event for pediatric AIDS in Gainesville, Florida. On March 3, 1993 the two were married, and three months later, still financially well-off as a result of his mother's investments of his earnings as a child star, North left Los Angeles and moved to Hackney's hometown of Lake Butler, Florida, becoming stepfather to her three daughters. That same year, with the release of the 1993 feature film Dennis the Menace, North was sought out by the media looking to find out what had become of the "original" Dennis they'd grown up with, and this renewed interest prompted him to publicly disclose the abuse he'd experienced as a child star.

In May 1997, having come to terms with the physical and emotional abuse he had suffered at the hands of his aunt and uncle, North began attending memorabilia shows to meet with fans. After moving to Florida, he began working as a correctional officer, reportedly working with troubled youth within Florida's juvenile justice system. and, as of 2011, continues to work for the Florida Department of Corrections.

Since the early 1990s, North has made occasional appearances on talk shows and in documentaries, as well as cameo appearances as "himself" on the animated television series The Simpsons and in the comedy feature film Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. In 1999, he concluded his E! interview by saying, "I am so happy that I was able to have such a positive impact on people's lives. I'm going to write my auto-biography and then I'm just going to live a contented, happy life here in Lake Butler with the people I love, and kind of just vanish into the mists of time.

A disillusioned Ralf tries to kill Sean but he manages to flee unharmed. His parents ask him on why he's so late at getting home to which Sean claims he forgot. Later that night while dressing for bed, Ralf confronts Sean again telling him the Sherriff is on his way threatening to cut the boy's tongue out should he tell him anything. The Sherriff questions Sean however Sean lies due to seeing Ralf eyeing him. The next day Sean meets up with Diane who invites him with her to meet up and have tea with some friends where Diane reveals that she knows about Ralf stalking her. Afterwards, on their way back home, she and Sean see Ralf who says he'll be waiting to see Sean at the warehouse. Diane invites Sean into her house for a drink. This soon accumulates into a moment of passionate lovemaking while Ralf, unknown to them, watches jealously. Afterwards, Diane asks Sean if he wants to do it again but he refuses on the grounds that his father will be home soon. Understanding this, Diane invites Sean to join her on her boat the next day, to which Sean happily agrees. The event of an intimate kissing act between the couple occurs while they are out on one of the boats having lunch, only this time Ralf threatens Sean with a handheld harpoon. However upon seeing Diane, his shy nature takes over and he flees. Later, Diane asks Sean out to dinner which he eagerly accepts. On their way back Ralf demands that he speak to Sean. Ralf, still under the disillusion that Sean killed Lou, threatens him once again with the bayonet. Diane then tells Sean's parents about Ralf's threats. The next day, after driving her home and having a pool party together, they make love once again. Diane receives a phone call from her drifter husband telling her that he's coming back. However Diane tells him she's divorcing him. As Sean gets into his van to drive home he is held at bayonet point by Ralf and ordered to drive to the warehouse. Sean manages to get away and arms himself with a rifle. Ralf reveals that the bullet is a blank. While Sean tries to flee, Ralf gets him in a chokehold which ends up killing him. Diane arrives on the scene looking for Sean however she finds Ralf. Ralf tells her that he killed Sean so he can be with her. Horrified at what Ralf has done, Diane tearfully rejects his advances. Overcome with anger and jealousy at Diane's love for Sean over himself, Ralf forces her down and tries to strangle her. Diane manages to stab him in the side with his own bayonet and flees leaving Ralf to bleed to death. Diane then finds Sean's body at the top of the outside stairway. Diane breaks down and weeps, cradling the body of her deceased lover.

Mario Moreno ("Cantinflas") is Pepe, a hired hand, employed on a ranch. A boozing Hollywood director, Mr. Holt, buys a white stallion that belongs to Pepe's boss. Pepe, determined to get the horse back (as he considers it his family), decides to take off to Hollywood. There he meets film stars including Jimmy Durante, Frank Sinatra, Zsa Zsa Gabór, Bing Crosby, Maurice Chevalier and Jack Lemmon in drag as Daphne from Some Like It Hot. He is also surprised by things that were new in America at the time, such as automatic swinging doors. When he finally reaches the man who bought the horse, he is led to believe there is no hope of getting it back. However Mr. Holt offers him a job when he realizes the Pepe brings new life to the stallion. Now his luck is changing and in Las Vegas Pepe wins big money, enough that Mr. Hold lets him be the producer of his next movie. Most of the movie centers around his meeting Shirley Jones who plays an actress on hard times and hating the world. Just like with the stallion, Pepe brings out the best in Shirley Jones and helps her become a big star in a movie made by Mr. Holt. Shirley Jones does a great job both as a dancer and singing the lead song called "Pepe." For those who love movies that are set in Acapulco, Mexico, this one has great appeal and beautiful scenery. The last scene shows both him and the stallion back at the ranch with several foals.
