Jean-Michel Cousteau (né le 6 mai 1938 à Toulon) est le fondateur en 1999 de l’association Ocean Futures Society. Il est également Président de l'Association Green Cross France et Territoires. Il est le fils aîné du commandant Jacques-Yves Cousteau et Simone Melchior, et le frère aîné de Philippe Cousteau.
Après la mort de sa mère en 1990 et celle de son père en 1997, Jean-Michel fonde, en 1999, Ocean Futures Society.
En 2009, Jean-Michel Cousteau part en expédition en Amazonie pour agir contre les promoteurs qui coupent les arbres et détruisent l'habitat de milliers d'animaux rares.
Jean-Michel Cousteau a été fait en 2013 chevalier de la Légion d'honneur.

Biography
Il effectue sa première plongée en Méditerranée accompagné de son père et de son frère, alors qu'il n'a que 7 ans. Il passe la plus grande partie de sa vie à explorer les mers avec sa famille à bord des navires Calypso et Alcyone.Après la mort de sa mère en 1990 et celle de son père en 1997, Jean-Michel fonde, en 1999, Ocean Futures Society.

Cousteau is narrating about the ocean. As he starts talking about coral reefs, Dory starts bothering him by entering the frame. The scene then cuts to an anemone that Nemo and Marlin come out of and Cousteau sighs for not being able to do his documentary. The scene cuts to real Cuttlefishes, which Dory tries to speak to. When Cousteau tells Dory to stop it, the scene cuts to a live Spanish dancer. This makes Marlin think of dancing and soon all three animated fish are dancing to some music. This infuriates Cousteau so much that he yells "Stop!" and proceeds to make a quick rant about the water cycle, concluding that "Everyone, everywhere, affects the ocean!". Dory expresses amazement and at first, Cousteau is satisfied, but when it is revealed that she was listening to the Echo inside a Conch shell, Cousteau loses his temper and starts ranting in French. For a few seconds, a cartoon still image of Cousteau appears while Musak-style music plays, on a title card which reads "Please Stand By.

Après avoir quitté la Marine nationale française, Jacques-Yves Cousteau veut se lancer dans l'exploration sous-marine. En 1950, il loue le bateau Calypso à un riche britannique. Le « commandant » part alors aux quatre coins du Monde, avec sa femme Simone et notamment Albert « Bebert » Falco. Ses deux fils, Philippe Cousteau et Jean-Michel Cousteau, restent en pension... Quelques années plus tard, Philippe rejoint finalement l'équipe de son père, qui tourne une série de films documentaires financés par une chaîne de télévision américaine. Philippe étant sensibilisé à l'écologie à laquelle son père est insensible, il se brouille avec lui puis, alors que les affaires de Jacques-Yves périclitent, revient auprès de lui et le sensibilise à la protection des océans et des espèces animales menacées, donnant à la carrière de son père une nouvelle orientation et un nouveau départ.
