Jiah Khan (born as Nafisa Rizvi Khan, 20 February 1988 – 3 June 2013) was a British American actress, model and singer who appeared in Hindi films. She made her film debut in the 2007 Ram Gopal Verma film Nishabd for which she was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She was later noted for portraying a modern, independent woman in Ghajini which was the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2008. Her performance in the latter earned her significant acclaim. She last appeared in Sajid Khan's romantic comedy Housefull, which was the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2010. Khan had catapulted herself into the Bollywood 100 Crore Club with Ghajini and Housefull.

On 3 June 2013, she was found dead in her flat in the Sagar Sangeet building in Juhu, Mumbai after apparently hanging herself. However, later her mother said that she was murdered by her boyfriend Suraj Pancholi. Her case is under probe by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Née d'une famille musulmane, elle est la fille d'Ali Rizvi Khan, un Américain d'origine indienne et de Rabiya Amin, une célèbre actrice des années 1980, née à Agra dans l'état d'Uttar Pradesh. Jiah Khan grandit à Londres, où elle termine son Edexcel O et un niveau avant de partir à Mumbai, pour poursuivre une carrière à Bollywood. Elle a deux sœurs : Kavita et Karishma. La protégée de Ram Gopal Verma, l'actrice Urmila Matondkar l'a inspirée d'entrer à Bollywood après l'avoir vu dans le film Rangeela à l'âge de six ans.

Elle fait ses études à l'école Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute à Manhattan qu'elle quitte même après avoir reçue une offre. Elle apprend aussi divers danses : la salsa, danse du ventre, le kathak, le lambada, le jazz, la samba et le reggae.

The story follows Aarush, (Akshay Kumar), a 'Panauti' who works in bar and gets money as people lose games of poker. After being rejected from getting married by a girl he goes to London to stay for some time with his best friend, Bob (Ritesh Deshmukh) and his wife, Hetal (Lara Dutta), both working at a casino owned by Mr.Kishore Samtani (Randhir Kapoor). Although at first Hetal is displeased with Aarush's presence, he proves to be a kind-hearted man looking for family. After the marriage, on their honeymoon in Italy, Devika leaves him for her long-time American boyfriend Benny. Aarush decides to commit suicide by drowning in the sea but is saved by a Telugu girl Sandy (Deepika Padukone), who he kissed when she was trying to make him breathe.

Amar Kant Varma (Shahrukh Khan) is a Program executive for All India Radio. He is dispatched from New Delhi to cover festivities in Northeast India. On his way there, during a rainy night, Amar stops at Haflong train station to catch Baraks Valley express, as the train runs late, Amar meets a mysterious woman by herself who asks him for a cup of tea. When he returns with the tea, he watches her board the next train with three male passengers. Later, Amar spots the same woman in Silchar. He attempts to talk to her but she says she cannot recall meeting him before. As part of his news reporting assignment, for the occasion of fifty years of Indian Independence, Amar interviews many citizens of Barak Valley, and an extremist leader, who claim that the reason behind human rights violations, and poverty in the region is due to Indian Government, and that the Liberationists do not wish to enter into any dialogue with the government, and further justify their resistance in Utthar Purv.
