Jon Cedar is a Actor and Scriptwriter American born on 22 january 1931
Jon Cedar (January 22, 1931 – April 14, 2011) was an American character actor, screenwriter and producer. He appeared in more than sixty television and film roles during his career.
Cedar began his acting career in high school theater productions at Detroit High School. He enlisted in the U.S. military and served in Italy during the Korean War. Cedar moved to Hollywood after leaving the military. Cedar toured the United States with his family, appearing in traveling musical and touring off-Broadway productions. His stage credits during this time included the national tours of South Pacific, Irma La Douce and The Deputy. He also joined the theater troupe, the Players Ring, based in Hollywood, with his brother, George Cedar.
Cedar had a recurring role as Corporal Karl Langenscheidt on the television series, Hogan's Heroes from 1965 to 1971.
His other television roles included Matlock, Barnaby Jones, Kojak, Ben Casey, The Greatest American Hero, Moonlighting, The Rockford Files, Murder, She Wrote and the 1987 film In Love and War. His last television appearance was in an episode of The Inside in 2005.
Cedar produced, wrote and co-starred in the 1978 horror film, The Manitou, which starred Tony Curtis. His additional film credits included Little Cigars (1973), The Execution of Private Slovik (1974), Foxy Brown (1974), Day of the Animals (1977), Capricorn One (1978), The Concorde ... Airport '79 (1979), Death Hunt (1981), Kiss Daddy Goodbye (1981), and Messenger of Death (1988). His last film role was in the 1997 film Murder in Mind.
He and his late wife, Barbara Cedar, owned and operated a script typing company, Barbara's Place, during the 1970s and 1980s. In the 1990s he coached actors at Theater Theater in Hollywood, California, including Chris Aable who introduced him to fellow actors who also became students of Cedar, Gedde Watanabe and Steve Burton.
Jon Cedar died of leukemia at Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Los Angeles on April 14, 2011, at the age of 80. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara. Cedar was survived by his daughter, actress Loren Thompson; son, producer Michael Cedar; partner, Elynore Leigh; and brother, actor George Cedar. His memorial service was held at the Groman Eden Mortuary in Mission Hills, California.

In Love and War is an account of US Navy Commander James Stockdale's eight year imprisonment in North Vietnam as a prisoner of war. During his confinement in sub-human living conditions within such camps as the infamous "Hanoi Hilton", Stockdale, amongst other American prisoners, led a resistance group against the North Vietnamese, facing torture, isolation, and starvation in attempts to break their wills. A woman named Karen (Susan Strasberg), who is suffering from a growing tumor on her neck, enters a hospital in San Francisco. After a series of X-rays, the doctors begin to think it is a living creature: a fetus being born inside the tumor. Eerie and grisly occurrences begin; the tumorous growth perceives itself – himself – to be under attack as a result of the X-rays used to ascertain its nature, which are starting to stunt and deform its development. The growth is actually the old Native American shaman, Misquamacus; he is reincarnating himself through the young woman to exact his revenge on white men who invaded North America and exterminated its native peoples. A second Native American shaman is contacted and hired to help fight the reincarnating medicine man, but the kind of spirits he can summon and control appear to be too weak to match his opponent's abilities.

A battle for survival begins as a group of mountain hikers in Northern California encounter a chemically imbalanced forest. The recent depletion of the Earth's ozone layer causes the sun to shine powerful ultraviolet light carrying some kind of solar radiation that somehow causes all animals above the altitude of 5,000 feet to run amok and kill, which is very unfortunate for a group of hikers (including Christopher George, Lynda Day George, and Leslie Nielsen) who get dropped off up there by helicopter just before a quarantine is announced for all the surrounding towns. This has a dramatic effect on the rest of the nation, turning common household pets and pests into vicious attackers.
