Jørgen Langhelle (born 18 August 1965) is an Award-winning leading Norwegian actor of stage, screen and television.

Langhelle has starred in the two successful Norwegian mini-series Deadline Torp (2005) and Torpedo (2007), as well as starring in such movies as Kristin Lavransdatter (1995), Elling (2001), I Am Dina (2002), Tyven, tyven (2002), Ulvesommer (2003) and En folkefiende (a modernized version of Henrik Ibsen's play An Enemy of the People) (2005). In March 2010, Langhelle was cast in The Thing, the 2011 prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 horror classic. Jørgen Langhelle will also for the first time be directing with Cato M Ekrene the short film Run in 2014.

Petter is a commercial offshore diver in the North Sea during the 1980s. Norway is at the beginning of its program for oil harvesting. Petter and his brother Knut have key roles in laying the first petroleum pipe in the North Sea. Norwegians and Americans are cooperating about diving deeper than anyone previously has done, to prepare for installation of a gas pipe. Petter experiences a tragic accident during a test dive. When he later tries to find out what really happened, he experiences that authorities and his colleagues try to put a smokescreen on the matter.

In 1989, and in the shadow of the collapse of Communism in Europe, a group of young rural Norwegians form a band. Preparations for their first gig are derailed when the lead singer, Jarle, is smitten by a new arrival, Yngve. Confused and not completely in touch with his own emotions, Jarle neglects his band, his mother and his girlfriend to spend more time with his new crush. At a party after the concert, he lashes out at Yngve but also admits he loves him. Yngve becomes depressed and flees to a bridge with the intention of committing suicide, but decides not to. He ends up in a mental hospital, and stays there until Jarle sees him again, few weeks after the incident.

The film centers around a group of young men whom reside in an area of Oslo that is predominantly inhabited by immigrants. Best friends David and Morten work as gym instructors at Jarle's gym. Jarle is a sadistic small-time criminal, who, together with his son Lars, purchases and distributes anabolic steroids. Lars has ties with a notorious criminal Pakistani gang led by Khuram. The climax of the film takes place after Lars, Morten and David are arrested for possession of illegal drugs. David chooses to "snitch" on his friends in order to visit his dying father. The story escalates when Lars uses his influence on the Pakistani gang to retaliate. Lars also informs Khuram about Morten's alleged sexual intercourse with Khuram's sister, viewed as dishonourable by the Sharia law. The plot leaves the two best friends in a series of events that force them to run for their lives.

The movie deals with the main character, Elling, a man with generalized anxiety in his 40s, and his struggle to function normally in society.
