Joseph Kilgour (11 July 1863 – 21 April 1933) was a Canadian actor of the silent film era. He was a well-known veteran stage actor in Broadway theatre before entering silent films. He appeared in 57 films between 1909 and 1926.

Kilgour was born in Ayr, Ontario, Canada to Joseph Kilgour Sr. and Mary Anderson, who married 29 Sep 1856. Kilgour was one of seven children of the general store owner. Kilgour left Ayr and moved to the United States to pursue his acting career. Kilgour retired from acting and died in Long Island, New York in 1933.

Le comte Boris a fui la Russie pendant la Révolution avec les joyaux de la couronne, dans le but de les revendre et aider ses compatriotes affamés avec l'argent obtenu. Des escrocs internationaux, Carstock, Hansen et Fogarty, désirent s'emparer des bijoux pour les revendre à Hammond, un millionnaire. Les joyaux ayant été envoyés à Yokohama par Boris, ils s'y rendent, mais Hansen rencontre une jeune femme, Marie, pendant le voyage et décide de changer de vie. Alors qu'ils se trouvent tous dans la chambre forte où sont stockés les bijoux, un tremblement de terre intervient qui les bloque à l'intérieur pour plusieurs jours. Boris meurt, Hansen prend les bijoux et promet de les utiliser à bon escient. Il est sauvé avec Marie et ils vont se marier.

As described in a film publication, several years earlier Mrs. Sheldon (McDowell) had been deserted by her husband. She brought up her son Robert (Hughes) in the belief that his father was dead. His desire to make good in the city leads his mother to send him to his father, Willard Thatcher (Kilgour). Unknown to him, Robert is now working for his own father, and all goes well until he learns of his father's nefarious financial schemes. They end up fighting, and Willard tells Robert that while he is married to his mother, Robert is not his son. Willard is accidentally killed, and on the evidence of Fan Baxter (Blythe), Willard's woman, Robert is condemned. A last minute forced confession from Fan by Robert's mother saves the day.

Lady Winifred se marie secrètement à Michael Wain, un garde-chasse. Pour détruire l'amour que Dora porte à John, Burford fait attacher un nu à la place du portrait que John faisait de Dora. Le cœur brisé, Dora s'enfuit dans son couvent dans les Alpes, ce qui a pour conséquence de rapprocher Lord Altcar et Lady Winifred. Burford, qui a découvert où se cache Dora, tente de la faire enlever, mais sa famille arrive à la rescousse.

As described in a film magazine, Betsy O'Hara (Barrymore) marries Lord Frederick Berolles (Ratcliffe) to please her parents, and while now is Lady Frederick, she finds herself miserable when her husband constantly insults her after discovering that she loves another. It does not help that Sir Paradise Fuldes (Herbert), the man she would have married except for his poverty, soon thereafter comes into a fortune. Her sister Kitty (Childers), while married to a man of position, has foolishly compromised herself with Robert Montgomery (Kilgour), a cad who forces her to visit his rooms on threat of disclosure. While assisting her sister in the recovery of some old love letters, she is surprised in the apartments of Montgomery, and assumes the situation to save her sister's reputation. She is then divorced, and sinks in the social scale. Lord Charles Mereston (Entwistle) meets her while gambling in Monte Carlo and falls in love with her. Lady Frederick does not encourage him, but he will not take no for an answer. His wife Lady Mereston (Gordon) appeals to her brother Sir Paradise to intervene, and while Lady Frederick resents the interference, she sends Mereston about his business using an ingenious device, and finds her reward in the arms of Paradise.
