Biography
Katsumi Nishikawa fait ses études à l'université Nihon. Il entre à la Shōchiku en tant qu'assistant réalisateur en 1939. Il travaille avec des réalisateurs tels que Yasushi Sasaki, Yūzō Kawashima et Noboru Nakamura avant de réaliser son premier film, Izu no enka-shi, en 1952.Il meurt le 6 avril 2010 dans un hôpital de Tokyo des suites d'une pneumonie à l'âge de 91 ans.
