Keith Prentice (February 21, 1940 – September 27, 1992) was a Dayton, Ohio-born American TV, film and stage actor, whose most famous role was the part of Larry in both the original stage and film versions of The Boys in the Band. Prentice also appeared on the classic TV soap Dark Shadows during the series' final months in 1971. Until just several years ago, his picture was displayed on the Tasters Choice coffee label.

Prentice studied in New York City at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His stage musical credits include Sail Away, The Sound of Music, Paint Your Wagon, and The King and I. In 1968, he appeared off-Broadway in the play The Boys in the Band, a once controversial play featuring gay characters at a dramatic birthday party - the Summer before the Stonewall gay civil rights riots. He also appeared in the film version of the play.

In 1971 Keith joined the cast of Dark Shadows playing Morgan Collins in the show's 1841PT plot line. Prentice also appeared as Nils Fowler in the 1972 film The Legend of Nigger Charley and had a small role in the 1980 film Cruising which, like The Boys in the Band, was directed by William Friedkin.

In 1982 Keith Prentice co-founded Kettering Theatre Under The Stars, and directed summer shows there until the year of his death.

Prentice died of AIDS-related cancer on September 27, 1992 in Kettering, Ohio.

The police suspect it to be the work of a serial killer who is picking up homosexual men at West Village bars like the Eagle's Nest, the Ramrod, and the Cock Pit, then taking them to cheap rooming houses or motels, tying them up and stabbing them to death.

An aging and dying plantation owner is deep in debt. Another man of the nature of Simon Legre is in the process of taking control of the estate and selling off the slaves to other plantation owners. The dying owner, however has freed Charley, giving him a paper that frees him. The Simon equivalent takes his paper and tears it up, beating Charlie, tying him up, intent on selling him despite his having been freed. The white man is drunk and goes to where Charlie is presumed to still be tied up, awaiting sale. Charlie is free of his bonds however and when attacked he defends himself and kills the white man. Two other slaves had already prepared to escape and were waiting for Charlie with three horses when the fight occurred and they flee together, pursued a few hours later by a group of vigilantes led by a man with a reputation as a slave hunter/killer.

The film is set in an Upper East Side apartment in New York City in the late 1960s. Michael, a Roman Catholic sporadically-employed writer, and recovering alcoholic, is preparing to host a birthday party for his friend Harold. Another of his friends, Donald, a self-described underachiever who has moved from the city, arrives and helps Michael prepare. Alan, Michael's (presumably straight) old college roommate from Georgetown, calls with an urgent need to see Michael. Michael reluctantly agrees and invites him to come over.
