Holly (widow) and Ben (son) arrive to her mother's new work place. They meet Nick (Holly's neighbor) and Ben starts to believe Nick is Santa Claus. Throughout the film, Ben tries to set Holly and Nick up together so he could get his wish of bringing back his dead father. Holly and Nick are sent secret admirer letters from Ben. They both meet each other and figure out they were set up. Holly figures Ben was behind it and lectures him on how some people were not meant to be together. Ben and Nick play hockey and Ben's dog Oscar is hit by a post truck in the process. His dog is in the vet and Holly blames Nick for this incident. Many scenes later, they make up and kiss. Nick turns out to be Santa in the end with Holly and Ben watching in awe. Nick flies into the sky in a sleigh guided by reindeer. The veterinarian and Oscar arrive to the house to give the news that Oscar is fine. Holly and the veterinarian become engaged in the end.

A dying man finds that horses, blondes, and the Mob may end his life faster than cancer. Joe (Billy Connolly) is a regular guy who runs a flower shop and has never had much in the way of good luck. Things seem to be grim for Joe when he's diagnosed with a brain tumor, but a bit of good fortune appears on the horizon when he wins a jackpot at the race track. However, Hush (Sharon Stone), an exotic dancer who has fallen deeply in debt to a gang of thugs, steals Joe's newly won fortune to pay them off. Joe gets his money back by explaining to the gangsters what happened, but only because they mistake him for a syndicate kingpin they've heard about but never met. When the gangsters discover that Joe is a florist and not a career criminal, they find the situation less than amusing.

In the near future, the cloning of animals and human organs has become routine. Cloning entire humans, however, is prohibited by what are known as "Sixth Day" laws. A computer salesman charged with marketing a tiny computer that no one can operate, faces hypertension when he realizes that there is no way to sell the product and he is likely to lose his job. So he can get some rest, his wife offers to take their two kid's camping for a week. When his fellow salesman and best friend is fired and thrown out of his house by his wife, he moves in and immediately starts unending parties, which ultimately ends up the house on fire and Winkler arrested on multiple charges.
