Kevin McNulty (born December 8, 1955) is a Canadian actor. His appearance in science fiction films and television productions has been prolific. McNulty grew up in Rossland, British Columbia. He studied music and acting at Washington State University and graduated from Studio 58, Langara College in Vancouver. He put his acting skills to work first on stage, working for two years from 1984 to 1985 at the Straford Festival. In 1986, McNulty made his break in screen work. Since that time, he continued on a extensive track of television and film work. In 2015 Kevin decided to volunteer his time to a UK based charity where he worked in the Corporate team providing advice to the rest of the charity. He also worked alongside John Hartson who had volunteered at the same charity.

Julia Jenz (Jill Schoelen) arrives at Dr. Schifrin's house for a routine baby-sitting gig. Soon after Dr. Schifrin and his wife leave, a mysterious man knocks on the door. The man tells Julia that his car is broken down and asks to come inside to use the phone. Julia refuses but agrees to call his auto club. The phone is dead. Afraid to divulge that the phone is dead, Julia lies and says that she called the auto club. The auto club never arrives, so the man returns continuously to ask for help. Hoping he goes away, Julia continues to lie, but the conversations become increasingly sinister. Meanwhile, around the house, Julia vaguely notices things turning up out of place. Soon, however, it becomes obvious that someone is moving in and out of the house, at which time Julia discovers the children have been abducted. The intruder eventually comes after her; she narrowly escapes. It is revealed that the children Julia babysat were never found or heard from again.

The "Minutemen", a team of costumed crime fighters, was formed in 1939 in response to a rise in costumed gangs and criminals; the "Watchmen" was similarly formed decades later. Their existence has dramatically affected world events: in particular, Doctor Manhattan's superpowers help the United States win the Vietnam War, resulting in President Richard Nixon being reelected. Doctor Manhattan gives the West a strategic advantage over the Soviet Union, which by the 1980s threatens to escalate the Cold War into a nuclear war. During that time, growing anti-vigilante sentiment in the country leads to masked crime-fighters being outlawed. While many of the heroes retire, Doctor Manhattan and the Comedian operate as government-sanctioned agents, and Rorschach continues to operate outside the law.

As the opening credits roll, a band called Flux, apparently with no singer, starts to play at a nightclub. Among the audience is a girl named Courtney Lane (Tammin Sursok). Interspersed with the scenes of the band playing, singer Nikko Alexander (Nolan Gerard Funk) calmly walks into the club through the back, barely making his cue for "Don't Tell Me". At the end of the song, he kicks over one of the amps, destroying it for effect. After the performance, the other members of Flux, upset by his carelessness, kick him out of the band; Nikko's girlfriend Amy (Britt Irvin), who is also in the band, dumps him. After the band members leave, Courtney frantically attempts to recruit Nikko into a show choir named "Spectacular!," of which she is leader. Though Nikko is skeptical and condescendingly rejects her offer, Courtney begs him to come to a carnival to see the choir perform and then make his decision.
