Lee Martin John Evans (born 25 February 1964) is an English retired comedian, writer, actor, and musician. He is a director of Little Mo Films, which he had co-directed with the late Addison Cresswell, who was also his agent prior to Cresswell's death in 2013.

Evans has become one of Britain's highest selling stand-up comedians, with his "Roadrunner" tour grossing £12.9 million. He is also an established actor, appearing in many big budget films such as Mouse Hunt, There's Something About Mary, and The Fifth Element. In 2008, his "Big" tour DVD became the highest-selling Christmas DVD in the United Kingdom, as did his "Monsters" tour DVD in 2014.

Biography

On 22 September 1984, he married Heather Nudds, with whom he has a daughter, Mollie (born December 1993). They moved to Billericay in 1997, having previously lived in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex.

Evans was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Anglia Ruskin University on 24 November 2009. This was followed by a second Doctorate from the University of East London on 9 December 2010 and is an Honorary Fellow of the Welsh College of Music and Drama.

In 2010 Evans ran the London Marathon with his friend Tony Grounds who wrote The Martins and finished in a time of 4 hours, 55 minutes, and 10 seconds. In 2009, Evans' nephew, Maxwell, died of a defective lung. 'He was an amazing little kid,' says Evans. 'He was funny, he was talented. He was one of us. When you go through that it changes you. He left behind a lot of joy and for me he made me feel I should never waste another day of my life. I think about little Max a lot of the time.'

In November 2014, Evans announced on The Jonathan Ross Show that he is retiring from stand-up comedy to spend more time with his wife Heather and daughter Mollie who is currently studying at university in Florida.

Eddie Yang (Jackie Chan) is a Hong Kong police officer cooperating with Interpol in the capture of a crime lord named AJ "Snakehead" Staul (Julian Sands). Snakehead procures an ancient book from a Chinese bookstore keeper, which tells the story of a boy being chosen every thousand years to bind the two halves of a legendary medallion. In Hong Kong, Eddie and Interpol agent Arthur Watson (Lee Evans) lead a raid to capture Snakehead and his men, who are about to kidnap the boy, named Jai (Alex Bao). Eddie and the agents fight off Snakehead's men, infiltrating the temple containing Jai. Jai is saved but Snakehead eludes them. Two weeks later Snakehead captures Jai aboard a cargo boat in Hong Kong. Eddie and a team of Hong Kong police engage and defeat several of Snakehead's men, but Snakehead escapes with Jai to Dublin, Ireland.

Out of work scrounger Robert Martin lives with his dysfunctional family who are long suffering wife Angie, accident prone son Little Bob who is bullied at school even by his teacher who Robert brandishes a gun at also... and pregnant teenage of 14 daughter Katie in a shabby house in Hatfield next door to the Galleria shopping centre above the A1 about 25 miles north of London. Competition addict Robert dreams of winning a holiday for his family to a dream island that turns out to be Isle Of Man and when he gets to the final few for a dream holiday but fails to win a competition in which he feels cheated out of, he flips and first goes to the editors office with a gun and steals his suit, then to an ice cream shop with his family and steals a parrot from a pet shop for Little Bob's birthday, he then tracks down the elderly winners, threatens them with a gun, ties them up in the cellar and steals their tickets. The police find them tied up. Upon arriving, Angie finds out Robert has cheated on her with their next door neighbour however the family enjoy the holiday. However, the Police catch up with Martin, he's convicted and goes to jail. He is later released to find his family life has improved since he was released from jail.

When once-wealthy string magnate Rudolf Smuntz (William Hickey) dies, he leaves his outdated string factory and a run-down mansion to his two sons, Lars (Lee Evans) and Ernie (Nathan Lane). When Lars refuses a proposal by representatives from the large Zeppco conglomerate to purchase their string factory, his greedy wife April (Vicki Lewis) promptly throws him out. Meanwhile, Ernie serves Mayor McKrinkle (Cliff Emmich) at his restaurant in anticipation of becoming a famous chef for serving such a high-profile guest. However, the mayor is poisoned by a cockroach (which came from Rudolf's old box of Cuban cigars that Ernie took for himself) and suffers two heart attacks. As a result, the mayor dies, Ernie's restaurant is closed down by the Board of Health, and he too is out on the street.
