Homar was born on April 20, 1957 in Barcelona. He studied primary education at Escuelas Homar in Horta, a neighbourhood of Barcelona, and was an altar boy at the church of Sant Joan d’Horta. He studied law in the Autonomous University of Barcelona and took some courses at Institud del Teatre of Barcelona.

Homar finally appeared on the big screen in the 1981 film based on Mercé Rodoreda's novella The Time of the Doves, where he played the male lead opposite Silvia Munt. This was followed by roles in the films Bad Education and Broken Embraces, both directed by Pedro Almodovar, and to the lead role of pope Alejandro VI in Antonio Hernandez's film Los Borgia.

A synopsis prior to the release of the film stated: "Caotica Ana is the story-journey of Ana during four years of her life, from 18 to 22. A countdown, 10, 9, 8, 7... until 0, like in hypnosis, through which Ana proves that she does not live alone, that her existence seems like a continuation of other lives of young women who died in a tragic way, all at the age of 22, and who live in the abyss of her unconscious memory. This is her chaos. Ana is the princess and the monster of this feminist fable against the tyranny of man."

Ridley consequently retires as a body guard, henceforth being haunted by nightmares and left by his wife who couldn't cope with him any longer. Only years later he reluctantly agrees when his former boss persuades him to take on a last mission in Barcelona. Ridley is gobsmacked when he meets the chief witness he is supposed to protect for it is the very man who has ruined his life. However, the former killer Lee Maxwell (Chazz Palminteri) is about to die of cancer and is desperate to make it up with his daughter Catherine (Cristina Brondo). Seeking redemption by being a witness against the villain Victor Tolkin (Nick Brimble) the former killer has made himself a target. Ridley tries to fight them off but in the end it is revealed that his boss has doublecrossed him and that he has hired Ridley solely because he expected him to fail again.
