Lorena Gale (May 9, 1958 – June 21, 2009) was a Canadian actress, playwright and theatre director. She was active onstage and in films and television since the 1980s. She also authored two award-winning plays, Angélique and Je me souviens.
She appeared in such movies as Another Cinderella Story, Ernest Goes to School, Fantastic Four, Traitor, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Mermaid Chair, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. She has guest starred on programs such as The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, Smallville and Kingdom Hospital. Until August 2005, she starred as Priestess Elosha on the SciFi Channel television program Battlestar Galactica.
Her play, Angélique, the story of executed slave Marie-Joseph Angelique, was the winner of the 1995 duMaurier National Playwriting Competition in Canada. Gale's final film role was a librarian in Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins.

Biography
Diplômée en 1977 du Collège Marianapolis de Montréal, Lorena Gale étudie à l'École nationale de théâtre et suit un cours de six mois à New York auprès de Paul Mann , un répétiteur de théâtre noir. Elle fait ses débuts sur scène en 1984, dans le rôle de Puck dans A Midsummer Night's Dream, une production du Geordie Theatre, à Montréal. Après une saison au Festival Shaw, elle devient directrice artistique du Black Theatre workshop de Montréal en 1985. Elle y étudie également l'écriture dramatique au Playwrights'workshop Montréal. En 2005, elle obtient une maîtrise en arts de la faculté de formation générale continue de l'Université Simon Fraser.Elle est surtout connue pour avoir interprété la grande prêtresse Elosha dans la série télévisée de Battlestar Galactica, de 2004 à 2008. In Coolsville, Ohio, four teenagers are involved in a fight on the school bus and are sent to detention. Norville "Shaggy" Rogers is a clumsy, geeky outcast, who tried to smuggle his dog Scooby-Doo onto the bus; Fred Jones is quarterback of the football team; Velma Dinkley is a science nerd; and Daphne Blake is in the drama club. They bond somewhat over a shared interest in mysteries, but quickly get on each other's nerves. While in the library for detention, two ghosts appear and chase them to the gym where a pep rally is going on. A third ghost, The Specter appears, causing the lights in the building to flicker. He starts telling everyone to leave. The stamp-collecting Principal Deedle decides to close the school, but Vice Principal Grimes deems it a prank and suspends the quartet.

At the trial, the prosecutor Ethan Thomas asks for the expert opinion of two doctors, who agree that Ms Rose was possessed by an invisible creature.
