Luca Zingaretti ([ˈluːka ddziŋɡaˈretti]; born 11 November 1961) is an Italian actor, known for playing Salvo Montalbano in Il commissario Montalbano mystery series based on the character and novels created by Andrea Camilleri. Zingaretti is a native of Rome. He is the older brother of politician Nicola Zingaretti.

Biography

Luca Zingaretti est le frère aîné de l'homme politique Nicola Zingaretti, ancien président de la province de Rome, et actuel président du Latium. Après le bac il entre à l'Académie nationale d'art dramatique Silvio D'Amico dans laquelle il est diplômé en 1984. Parmi ses professeurs se trouve l'écrivain Andrea Camilleri qu'il rencontrera plus tard lorsqu'il interprétera le rôle du commissaire Montalbano créé par l'auteur sicilien.

Il débute dans les années 1980 au théâtre avec Luca Ronconi. En particulier on notera ses rôles dans Les trois sœurs, Tito Andronico et Bent.

En 1987 il fait ses débuts au cinéma avec Gli occhiali d'oro, film réalisé par Giuliano Montaldo, et en 1990 à la télévision avec Il giudice istruttore, réalisé par Florestano Vancini et Gianluigi Calderone. C'est avec le film de Marco Risi en 1994, Il branco dans lequel il interprète le féroce Ottorino qu'il est révélé au grand public.

Le succès arrive avec le commissaire Montalbano, une série de films tv fondée sur les romans très célèbres de Andrea Camilleri, tout d'abord sur Rai Due puis sur Rai Uno. Dans cette série, entre 1999 et 2006, il a tourné 14 films tv.

Après le succès national de la série, il devient un des acteurs les plus demandés d'Italie et tourne beaucoup pour le cinéma: Prima dammi un bacio (2003), réalisé par Ambrogio Lo Giudice, I giorni dell'abbandono (2005), réalisé par Roberto Faenza, Tutte le donne della mia vita (2007), réalisé par Simona Izzo, mais aussi pour la télévision dans les films suivants : Perlasca. Un eroe italiano (2002), œuvre inspirée par l'histoire de Giorgio Perlasca, homme d'affaires devenu Juste parmi les nations, Doppio agguato (2003), Cefalonia (2005).

En 2008 sont tournés 4 films tv du commissaire Montalbano et il joue aussi au théâtre La Sirena, d'après un texte de Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.

Claudio (Elio Germano) is a young construction worker who lives a happy life with his pregnant wife Elena (Isabella Ragonese) and their two children in Rome. They manage together their daily difficulties with love and complicity. One day in the construction site, Claudio discovered the corpse of an illegal Romanian worker who died while working in a drunk state, but decided not to report the discovery for fear that the site would be closed down. His life is further struck when Elena dies while giving birth to their third son Vasco, right after their vacation. This is the beginning of a new phase for Claudio, who now concentrates on becoming richer, and buying "things" to his three sons in the hope of making them happier after the loss of their mum. Luciano Baietti (Christian De Sica) is a man who has always taken advantage of the weakness of character of his wife Fiamma (Laura Morante) and his two sons Paul and Baldo. So Baldo, believing that review after so many years, the beloved father was invited to his villa why are headed all the properties and buildings that his father bought the scam. However, Luciano, who hopes to be saved from disaster by a second marriage is discovered, the wedding go awry, and he was arrested by the police. Baldo increasingly confused and desperate to return home to his family, and soon also joins Luciano, now reduced to a pauper after release from prison.
