Lucy Beaumont (18 May 1873 – 24 April 1937) was an English actress of the stage and screen from Bristol, Gloucestershire.
On the American stage, she played opposite Walter Connolly in The Bishop Misbehaves and Leslie Howard in Berkeley Square. Later she appeared in the film version of Berkeley Square. During the 1914–15 season Beaumont was in My Lady's Dress at the Playhouse in New York. The following season she was featured in Quinneys, for part of the play's run. In 1916 she appeared with Frances Starr in Little Lady in Blue.
Beaumont played mostly mother parts on the screen. Some of her films are The Greater Glory (1926), with Conway Tearle, The Man Without A Country (1925), with Pauline Starke, Torrent (1926), with Ricardo Cortez, The Beloved Rogue, with John Barrymore, Resurrection (1927), with Dolores del Río, The Crowd (1928), with Eleanor Boardman and Maid of Salem (1937), her final motion picture, with Claudette Colbert. Her final professional appearance was in April 1937 on the Robert L. Ripley radio programme.

Beaumont (apparently born with the surname Coles) was educated at a young ladies' college in Bath, Somerset.On the American stage, she played opposite Walter Connolly in The Bishop Misbehaves and Leslie Howard in Berkeley Square. Later she appeared in the film version of Berkeley Square. During the 1914–15 season Beaumont was in My Lady's Dress at the Playhouse in New York. The following season she was featured in Quinneys, for part of the play's run. In 1916 she appeared with Frances Starr in Little Lady in Blue.

Tommy Tanner (Wheeler) and Egbert G. Higginbotham (Woolsey) are two vaudevillians who were kicked out of the last town they performed in. After fleeing to the town of Lockville, the duo befriend elderly widow Mother Talley (Lucy Beaumont). Mother is upset because she is unable to get customers into her drug store. In addition, Mother owes a payment on a bank note to Harry Watters (Jason Robards). Tommy and Egbert decide to turn Mother's drugstore into a money-making venture, even producing their own afternoon radio program right in the store. Harry, who wants to buy the store as part of a bootlegging operation, attempts to sell the duo an alcohol-laced drink, referring to it as "lemon-syrup". The "syrup" gains praise from everybody in town, until the police show up to close down the operation. Tommy and Egbert are suspicious of Harry, and it's up to them to find Harry, clear their name, and save Mother's store.

Jan, jeune femme majeure vit seule avec son père, Stephen, un grand avocat miné par l'alcoolisme. Le père et la fille sont extrêmement attachés l'un à l'autre. Stephen a élevé sa fille dans un esprit de liberté, partant du principe qu'elle doit faire ses expériences elle-même et en tirer les leçons, ce genre de comportement place Stephen et Jan en porte à faux vis-à-vis du reste de leur famille. Stephen doit défendre Ace Wilfong un gangster accusé de meurtre et qui n'a que peu de chance d'échapper à la potence. Dans les coulisses du procès, Wilfong est présenté à Jan et les deux jeunes gens ne sont pas insensibles l'un à l'autre. Pendant que le procès se termine Jan rend visite à sa grand-mère qui fête ses 100 ans. au cours de la réception Dwight annonce qu'il a l'intention de se fiancer avec Jan. Stephen qui a réussi à innocenter Wilfong la rejoint un peu plus tard en compagnie de ce dernier. La famille fait alors comprendre à Wilfong qui n'est pas le bienvenu. Cette attitude choque Jan qui s'en va avec lui.
