Marc Caro, born April 2, 1956, is a French filmmaker and cartoonist, best known for his co-directing projects with Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Jeunet and Caro met at a film festival in 1974, and wrote and directed three short films and the feature films Delicatessen and The City of Lost Children.

Caro's first feature film as a solo director was titled Dante 01.

Biography

Durant les années 1970, il publie des bandes dessinées dans Métal hurlant, Fluide glacial, Charlie Mensuel ou L'Écho des savanes. En 1974, il rencontre Jean-Pierre Jeunet au Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy, avec qui il réalise de nombreux courts, un clip et des longs métrages (Delicatessen et La Cité des enfants perdus).

Durant les années 1980, il dirige un groupe de musique industrielle nommé Parazite.

Il aide durant les années 1990 à la direction artistique de certains films, fait l'acteur, réalise des pubs et plusieurs courts-métrages.

En 2008, il réalise son premier long-métrage en solo, Dante 01 avec Lambert Wilson.

Son projet suivant est un documentaire sur la technologie au Japon qui est intitulé Astroboy à Roboland.

En avril 2010, il obtient l'aide à l’écriture du CNC pour un long-métrage, Le Terrier.

The charismatic criminal Dobermann (Vincent Cassel), who got his first gun when he was christened, leads a gang of brutal robbers with his beautiful, deaf girlfriend Nat the Gypsy (Monica Bellucci).
