Marco Antonio Caponi (born October 9, 1983) is an Argentine actor.

Biography

Marco Antonio Caponi was born in Godoy Cruz, Mendoza in 1983, and moved to Maipu during his infancy. He moved to Buenos Aires at the age of 21. He initially intended to study to be an engineer, but he could not begin the studies. Then he realized that he preferred an acting career, and moved to Buenos Aires for the higher job opportunities. Selected in a group of nearly 700 novice actors, he got a scolarship to study with the actor Esteban Mellino, and then with Raúl Serrano.

His first work was in a theater play for children. He made his first TV works in advertisings, and he gradually became more famous. He got minor roles in the telenovelas Son de Fierro and Valientes. In Los exitosos Pells he met the actor Mike Amigorena, who was also born in Mendoza. His first lead character was Renzo Peralta in Alguien que me quiera. He also took part in the film Patagonia, an Argentine-Welsh co-production starred by Matthew Rhys.

In 2011 he worked as a leading character of Herederos de una venganza, a local caudillo of the workers of a Mendocine wineyard. However, the telenovela was not shot in Mendoza, but in a television set located 30 kilometers away from Buenos Aires. Caponi noticed mistakes in the portrayal of Mendoza, but dismissed their significance, considering that a telenovela does not need to be as accurate as a documentary movie.

He began 2012 working in the second season of the superhero live-action television series Los únicos. He played Moro Hunter, a character that could turn off other people's superpowers. He left it a short time before the cancellation, and moved to the successful telenovela Graduados of the rival channel Telefe. He initially thought to take a free year, but decided instead to work in a telenovela in 2013, Los Vecinos en Guerra.

Gwen and Rhys are a Welsh-speaking couple living in Cardiff where Rhys works as a photographer and Gwen is employed as a historical interpreter at a local Welsh cultural centre. Gwen is also an aspiring actress and although she periodically attends auditions, she has yet to be hired for a theatrical part. The couple's inability to conceive a child has caused increasing tension between them. Hoping to reinvigorate their relationship, the pair decide to travel together to southern Argentina where Rhys has been commissioned to photograph the historic Welsh chapels in Patagonia, a vast windswept landscape which was a destination for Welsh immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. While there, they are served by their local Welsh-Argentine guide, Mateo.
