Maria Schrader (born 27 September 1965) is a German actress, screenwriter, and director. She directed the award winning 2007 film Love Life that was based on a novel by Zeruya Shalev.

Biography

Maria Schrader has one child with director Rainer Kaufmann, a daughter named Felice, whose name was inspired by Schrader's character in the film Aimée & Jaguar.

In Darkness is a dramatization of a factual rescue of Jewish refugees during World War II in German-occupied Polish city Lwów (Lemberg in German, L'viv in Ukrainian). For over a year, a Polish Catholic sewer maintenance worker and burglar, Leopold Socha – along with his friend and coworker Szczepek Wróblewski – hid and cared for a group of hunted Polish Jews who had escaped the massacres and deportations during the liquidation of the Lwów Ghetto, at first helping them in exchange for daily payment, but then continuing to do so long after the Jews' money had run out and aiding them had become ever more dangerous.

Dès le début du film, une absence est remarquée. Un membre des Crocodiles, Elvis, a été envoyé en pensionnat à la suite de graffitis qu'il avait faits. Âgé de dix ans, Hannes doit grimper sur le toit d'une ancienne briqueterie afin de récupérer un collier avec un motif de crocodile. Cette épreuve a pour but d'illustrer le courage du garçon afin d'être admis au sein de la bande. Il glisse, tombe et s'accroche à une gouttière. Il y est maintenu grâce à la mince chaîne du collier qu'il était allé chercher. Cependant, un paraplégique, Kaï, l'observe depuis sa chambre, à l'aide d'un télescope. Bien que Maria ait été envoyée pour appeler les services d'urgence, ceux-ci arrivent avant même que cette dernière les ait rejoints. C'est Kaï qui a appelé les secours. Les pompiers ont utilisé un énorme coussin gonflable et Hannes y est tombé, in extremis. Il a appris qui était la personne qui lui avait sauvé la vie et est allé la remercier.

During a meeting between Opel and the advertising agency Brainstorm, Viktor Vogel sneaks in and offers his views on how the agency's new campaign is boring and lacking in irony. This helps the already dissatisfied Opel people tell Brainstorm they need to come up with a new idea as they leave. After some discussion at Brainstorm the agency decides that they need to find Viktor, whom they threw out after the meeting, and hire him to work on the campaign. Eventually Viktor becomes the partner of Edward Kaminsky, a veteran ad man who is hoping to retire soon and they begin work on an idea that will keep Brainstorm alive through Opel's money.
