Mark Irwin, A.S.C., C.S.C. (born August 7, 1950) is a Canadian cinematographer.

He was born in Toronto. He studied Political science at the University of Waterloo and Filmmaking at the York University.

He is famous for early David Cronenberg films such as Fast Company, Scanners, Videodrome, The Dead Zone, and The Fly.

Biography

Comme chef opérateur, Mark Irwin travaille sur plus de quatre-vingts films, canadiens ou américains (plus quelques coproductions), le premier sorti en 1976. Il s'installe aux États-Unis en 1987.

Parmi les réalisateurs avec lesquels il collabore, mentionnons son compatriote David Cronenberg (ex. : La Mouche en 1986, avec Jeff Goldblum et Geena Davis), Irvin Kershner (RoboCop 2 en 1990, avec Peter Weller et Nancy Allen), Wes Craven (ex. : Scream en 1996, avec Neve Campbell et David Arquette), ou encore les frères Farrelly (ex. : Fous d'Irène en 2000, avec Jim Carrey et Renée Zellweger).

Pour la télévision, il dirige les prises de vues d'une trentaine de téléfilms à partir de 1977, dont Ace Ventura 3 de David M. Evans (2008, avec Art LaFleur et Ann Cusack) et Coupable innocence de Peter Markle (2011, avec Gabrielle Anwar et Colin Egglesfield).

La veille de la rentrée des classes, Mack et Brady, deux passionnés de surf, fêtent leurs 3 mois ensemble à l'endroit de leur première rencontre en regardant leur film préféré, le film qui les a réunis : Wet Side Story. Le jour de la rentrée, le couple réalise que ça ne marche pas entre eux au lycée et décide de rompre. Pendant ce temps, dans Wet Side Story, Lela, un des deux personnages principaux, se rend compte qu'elle ne veut plus continuer à jouer ce rôle et décide de rendre visite à Mack et Brady pour apprendre à devenir celle qu'elle veut être. Tanner, son petit ami, finit par la suivre. En arrivant, ils sont émerveillés par les progrès du présent et souhaitent y rester pour toujours. Mais hélas, cela est impossible car à la suite de leur départ du film, les autres personnages commencent à disparaître. Mack et Brady doivent alors leur dire qu'en réalité, ils ne sont pas réels mais juste des personnages de fiction d'un film des années 1960.

She sadly tells Brady they will have to break up since they will be too far away to maintain their relationship.

Malcolm Turner (Martin Lawrence) has been assigned a desk job in public relations as an FBI agent, since he wants to live with his new wife, Sherry Pierce (Nia Long), during her delivery for the couple's new baby boy. Meanwhile, an incident occurs in Orange County, California, where Malcolm's old friend, Doug Hudson (Kirk B.R. Woller), has been killed while he was going undercover. FBI agent Kevin Keneally (Zachary Levi) is doing surveillance on a former U.S. Army military intelligence specialist named Tom Fuller (Mark Moses), who has since retired and is working for a private corporation called National Agenda Software. The FBI has soon discovered that Tom is developing a computer worm which will create backdoors into the databases of all the branches of the U.S. government. Affected by his friend's death, Malcolm asks FBI chief, Crawford (Dan Lauria), to put him on the case, but Crawford refuses and tells him to stay away for safety analysis. By eavesdropping via the webcam, Malcolm finds out that the FBI is sending one of the agents to infiltrate Fuller's house as a nanny. Giving Sherry the pretext of attending a safety conference in Phoenix, Arizona, Malcolm leaves for Orange County and takes the "Big Momma" costume with him.
