Biography
Metcalf previously dated Glenn Close and Carrie Fisher. He moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2000. Metcalf and his ex-wife, Libby, have one child, Julius. Metcalf lived in Bayside, Wisconsin until mid-2013 when he moved to Montana.Contrary to popular belief, Mark is not the brother of actress Laurie Metcalf.

Fifteen years ago Bobby (Marshall Caswell) and his friends tormented their little league teammate Billy Haskins after he lost them a big game. On October 21, 1994, Harlan Diehl (Luke Bonczyk) murders his family at their farmhouse and he is shot by the police, as he kills his sister. The tragedy leaves behind video footage which he had taped and his sister's baby who lives. Fifteen years later in Marshall, Michigan, an ambitious high school student Julian Miller (Johnny Pacar), is tasked with completing a film assignment on forgotten local stories for journalism class. Choosing the Harlan Diehl case, though it goes against the wishes of his mother, Anne Miller (Lisa Jane Todd), he selects his girlfriend, Riley (Ambyr Childers), to be his project partner, and borrows camera equipment and archive footage from his reserved former coworker at a video store, Quinn (Toby Hemingway), who has since become a news station cataloger. The wreck of the supertanker Exxon Valdez in Prince William Sound, Alaska, on March 24, 1989 was one of the most devastating ecological disasters in recent history. Immediately after the ship ran aground and began spilling over 11 million US gallons (42,000 m) of suffocating oil from its ruptured hold, experts were sent out to assess the damage and clean up the mess. This docudrama tells their story. Much centers on the conflict between local officials, the fishing industry, and the Exxon official sent out to oversee the clean-up and take the rap. The filmmakers point out that much of the aftermath could have been minimized had the officials in charge been better prepared and not spent so much time involved in useless red-tape and petty bureaucratic bickering. Most of the film was shot in Vancouver, Richmond and Steveston, British Columbia, but it also utilizes archival film clips of the actual disaster and cleanup efforts.
