Masashi Andō (安藤雅司, Andō Masashi), né en 1969 à Hiroshima, est un animateur japonais connu pour avoir travaillé avec Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata et Satoshi Kon.
Il quitte Ghibli en 2003 et travaille de façon indépendante auprès de réalisateurs comme Satoshi Kon et Hiroyuki Okiura. Il collabore de nouveau avec Ghibli en 2013 sur Le Conte de la princesse Kaguya d’Isao Takahata et les Souvenirs de Marnie, premier film pour lequel il co-écrit le scénario.

Biography
Masashi Andō est né en 1969 à Hiroshima. Il entre en 1990 au Studio Ghibli comme animateur puis character designer. On Your Mark de Hayao Miyazaki est son premier projet important en 1995, dirigeant l’animation et le character design. Il co-dirige ensuite l’animation sur Princesse Mononoké et Le Voyage de Chihiro pour le même réalisateur . Sur ce dernier film, primé aux Oscars du cinéma en 2003, il collabore étroitement avec Hayao Miyazaki sur l’évolution du personnage principal, bien qu’il n’ait pas été satisfait de la fin.Il quitte Ghibli en 2003 et travaille de façon indépendante auprès de réalisateurs comme Satoshi Kon et Hiroyuki Okiura. Il collabore de nouveau avec Ghibli en 2013 sur Le Conte de la princesse Kaguya d’Isao Takahata et les Souvenirs de Marnie, premier film pour lequel il co-écrit le scénario.

Morikawa, une adolescente qui vit avec son père à Okayama, s'ennuie à l'école et passe son temps à rêver. L'histoire commence au Japon en 1814, pendant la période Edo. Edo est la ville actuellement appelée Tokyo. O-Ei est l'une des quatre filles du peintre Tetsuzo, qui se fait ensuite connaître sous le nom de Katsushika Hokusai. Le film se déroule au moment où O-Ei accède à l'âge adulte tandis que son père, âgé d'une grande cinquantaine d'années, est déjà un artiste reconnu dans son pays. Dans son atelier où règne un désordre monstrueux, Tetsuzo passe son temps à créer de somptueuses œuvres d'art. Il est capable de dessiner un ogre sur une surface de 120 tatamis comme de peindre deux moineaux sur un grain de riz, de dessiner des hommes influents, des dragons ou des scènes érotiques. C'est un homme à l'humeur changeante, sarcastique, qui n'est pas mû par la soif de l'argent. O-Ei tient de son père son talent et son obstination. Elle peint très souvent à sa place, sans signer son travail, afin de boucler les commandes ; elle n'obtient donc aucune reconnaissance pour son talent.

A bamboo cutter named Sanuki no Miyatsuko discovers a miniature girl inside a glowing bamboo shoot. Asuka Langley Shikinami and Mari Illustrious Makinami, pilots of giant Evangelion cyborgs, are sent into in space to retrieve a container in which Evangelion Unit 01 and its pilot Shinji Ikari are sealed. Following the death of her father Kazuo, Momo Miyaura and her mother Ikuko travel from Tokyo to the Seto Inland Sea. Momo carries Kazuo's unfinished letter, which contains only the words "Dear Momo." The two arrive at her mother's estate in Shio Island (汐島, Shiojima) and meet their relatives Sachio and Sae Sadahama as well as Koichi, a postman and Ikuko's friend. Momo is devastated and misses Tokyo. In the attic, she opens a present containing a rare picture book about goblins and Yōkai, collected by Sachio's father. Three droplets from the sky enter Ikuko's estate and transform into yokai consisting of Kawa, Mame, and Iwa, the group's leader.

One Christmas Eve in present-day Tokyo, three homeless people — Gin (ギン), a middle-aged alcoholic, Hana (ハナ), a trans woman and former drag queen, and Miyuki (ミユキ), a runaway girl — discover an abandoned newborn while looking through garbage. Ten-year-old Chihiro Ogino and her parents are traveling to their new home when her father takes a wrong turn.
