Michael Byrne (born 7 November 1943) is an English actor noted for his roles on film and television. He is particularly associated with roles as Nazi German characters in World War II dramas, though he has also played many other roles, including Alfred Maxwell in Casualty.

Il a joué le rôle d'un nazi, face à Harrison Ford, dans L'ouragan vient de Navarone (1978) ainsi que dans Indiana Jones et la Dernière Croisade (1989). Dans les deux films, son personnage se retrouve dans un véhicule tombant d'une falaise. L'acteur a également joué le rôle d'un survivant juif de l'Holocauste dans Un élève doué (1998) ainsi que celui de l'amiral du navire britannique dans Demain ne meurt jamais (1997).

Lord Charlie Mortdecai, an unscrupulous art dealer and swindler, is accosted in Hong Kong by one of his victims, a gangster named Fang. Jock, Mortdecai's faithful manservant, extricates his master before they can be killed by Fang's gunmen. They return to London, where Mortdecai and his wife, Johanna, consider ways to pay off their crushing debt. A painting by Francisco Goya becomes the target of an elaborate theft which results in the murders of an art restorer and one of the thieves. Inspector Alistair Martland is put on the case. Martland, who has been in love with Johanna since college, asks Mortdecai to assist him. Martland believes the prime suspect to be Emil Strago. Mortdecai agrees to help in exchange for 10% of the insurance money.

The film narrates the last two years of the princess' life, beginning with events when Diana (Naomi Watts) divorces Charles, Prince of Wales. She falls in love with Pakistani Heart Surgeon, Dr. Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews). The film depicts her historic tours of Angola, in her campaign against the use of land mines. Trips to causes in Australia, Pakistan, New York, Bosnia, Italy and ultimately Paris, France are also shown, with recreations of the fashions she wore in real life. Her desire for a life with Khan ends due to his wish for a private life and objections to her celebrity. The film depicts her dating of Egyptian Dodi Fayed as an attempt to make Khan jealous, but it ends with the car crash that killed Diana, Fayed and Fayed's driver at Pont Alma Tunnel, in Paris, France - however there is no reconstruction of the crash scene.

Nazi-hunter Lena (Catherine Steadman) is on the trail of a notorious war-criminal scientist, Klausener, who at the close of World War II had begun trials of a frightening new technology that can create an immortal army. The film begins with Private Shane Gulliver (Matthew McNulty) of the 1st Battalion, Northdale Rifles marching to a court martial.
