Michael (Daley) Coulter, né le 29 août 1952 à Glasgow, est un directeur de la photographie écossais (membre de la BSC).
Parmi sa quasi trentaine de films (majoritairement britanniques, américains ou en coproduction), mentionnons également Quatre mariages et un enterrement de Mike Newell (1994, avec Hugh Grant et Andie MacDowell), Raison et Sentiments d'Ang Lee (1995, avec Emma Thompson et Kate Winslet), Coup de foudre à Notting Hill de Roger Michell (1999, avec Julia Roberts et Hugh Grant), ainsi que Braquage à l'anglaise de Roger Donaldson (2008, avec Jason Statham et Saffron Burrows).

Biography
Michael Coulter débute comme chef opérateur sur le court métrage documentaire Islands of the West de Bill Forsyth, sorti en 1972. Petty-criminal-gone-straight, Terry Leather (Jason Statham), owns a struggling car-sales garage. His friend, the photographer Kevin Swain's (Stephen Campbell Moore) ex-girlfriend, a former model named Martine Love (Saffron Burrows) offers Terry a chance to earn enough money to never worry about debt again: a bank robbery in Baker Street, London. At the age of 10, Fanny Price is sent to live with her wealthy uncle and aunt, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram, as her own parents married for love and do not have enough money to support their many children. On his deathbed, Mr. Dashwood (Tom Wilkinson) tells his son from his first marriage, John (James Fleet), to take care of his second wife (Gemma Jones) and three daughters, Elinor (Emma Thompson), Marianne (Kate Winslet) and Margaret (Emilie François), since they will inherit nothing. Recently widowed and anxious to escape the clutches of her oppressively meddlesome in-laws, free-spirited Lilia Herriton travels to the hillside Tuscan town of Monteriano with her young friend Caroline Abbott.
