Michael Francis "Mick" Foley Sr. (born June 7, 1965) is a semi-retired American professional wrestler, author, comedian, color commentator, actor and voice actor. He has worked for many wrestling promotions, including World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) as well as numerous promotions in Japan. He is often referred to as "The Hardcore Legend", a nickname he shares with Terry Funk.

Foley has wrestled under his real name and various personas, including Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and Mankind, also known as the Three Faces of Foley. Foley is a four-time world champion (three WWF Championships and one TNA World Heavyweight Championship), an 11-time world tag team champion (eight WWF Tag Team Championships, two ECW World Tag Team Championships, and one WCW World Tag Team Championship), a one-time TNA Legends Champion, and the inaugural WWF Hardcore Champion.

Biography

Foley and his wife Colette (née Christie) have three sons and a daughter: Dewey Francis (born February 20, 1992), Noelle Margaret (born December 15, 1993), Michael Francis "Mickey" Jr. (born in 2001), and Hughie Francis (born in 2003). Foley's father, Jack Foley, a former Ward Melville High School Athletic Director, died on September 13, 2009. Foley's daughter Noelle, seen crying in the film Beyond the Mat when Foley receives multiple chair shots at the 1999 Royal Rumble, is currently training to become a wrestler.

Foley's sons Mickey and Hughie operate their YouTube channel, MickeyFoley0105. The page depicts Mickey wrestling on a trampoline with his brother, and video games and other aspects of his life. Foley himself occasionally appears in Mickey's videos, including one parodying the 2010 LeBron James special The Decision in which Foley teases announcing Al Snow as being his WWE Hall of Fame inductee before announcing the real inductee, Terry Funk.

As his contract nears expiration in March 1996, professional wrestler Bret "Hitman" Hart was torn between two companies, World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) during the Monday Night Wars. On one hand, the WWF was his home. The chairman of the company, Vince McMahon, is a father figure to Hart and takes credit for Hart's rise to international wrestling stardom. However, the company's new creative approach to marketing professional wrestling, the "WWF Attitude" marketing brand which relies on an emphasis on sex, extreme violence, and the replacing of heroic wrestling characters with disaffected anti-heroes in effort to compete against the already-popular WCW, has left Hart disillusioned.
