Mimsy Farmer (born Merle Farmer; February 28, 1945) is an American actress. Her nickname came from a line in Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky; "All mimsy were the borogoves".
She is divorced from screenwriter Vincenzo Cerami, and has a daughter by him, Italian television actress Aisha Cerami. Currently, Farmer resides in France with her husband, sculptor Francis Poirier.

The film begins as two students named Rosie and Tom excuse themselves from a basketball game and head to a campground where it is revealed that the campground was built on a haunted Indian burial ground, adopted by an ancient Indian shaman to watch over the ground site. After Tom and Rosie finish having sex, Rosie heads out and finds an abandoned police car, not knowing that the Shaman is watching her through the bushes. Rosie gets inside the police car, only for the Shaman to attack from behind the seat, causing Rosie to flee and in the progress, gets stabbed in the hand.

In a small village in Emilia Romagna, the parish priest Don Camillo repeatedly collides with the communist mayor Peppone. The two do not share anything in common and the slights are continuous, up to even in some cases to beat. Don Camillo coaches the football team of young boys of the village, and the day of the final match is near. Peppone however, to make a joke in bad taste to the enemy, corrupts the referee. Don Camillo realizes it and fights again with him; so Don Camillo is exiled. But the citizens of the village do not agree, and so Peppone is forced to make up for not winning the confidence in the government.

Strange things are happening in a small English village starting when a man driving a car suddenly encounters a strange black cat in the back seat and through the mesmerizing stare, the cat causes the man to crash his car into a lamp post, killing him. The black cat travels back to its home, a rambling old house occupied by Robert Miles (Patrick Magee), a morbid and hostile former college professor of the supernatural who is reputed to be a medium. Professor Miles lives alone except for his equally hostile black cat, and spends his time making audio tape recordings at the tombs of the recently deceased. Meanwhile, an American tourist named Jill Travers (Mimsy Farmer), ventures into an open crypt to take photographs for her scrapbook when she discovers a small microphone on the floor of the place. Venturing out, she meets the local police constable Sergeant Wilson (Al Cliver) who tells her not to venture down the crypt against saying that the dead like to be left alone. "They're not very hospitable," says Wilson.

The film is based on true events: In 1978 approximately 3000 heavily armed fighters from Katanga crossed the border to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and marched into Kolwezi, a mining centre for copper and cobalt. They took 3000 civilians as hostages. Within a few days between 90 and 280 hostages were killed. The rebels appeared to be unpredictable and are reported to have threatened to annihilate all civilians. The Congo's head of state Mobutu urged Belgium, France and the USA to help. France sent the Foreign Legion's 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment who were flown from Corsica to Kolwezi. Following their arrival they secured the perimeter in cooperation with Belgian soldiers from Zaire and then started to evacuate the civilists. Within two days more than 2000 Europeans and about 3000 African citizens were saved. The film strives to depict these events in a dramatised form, concentrating on the Europeans' plight.

Concorde Test Flight 820 is sabotaged which forces the plane to crash land in the ocean off coast of Martinique in the Antillies of the Caribbean. Lafayette (Gérard Depardieu) est un jeune électricien qui vit à New York, mais il n’en fréquente que trois repères : le Musée de Cire de la Rome Antique, de Flaxman (James Coco) où il travaille, un petit théâtre géré par des féministes, son appartement en sous-sol infesté de rats. Un matin, il remarque dans la rue des individus vêtus de combinaisons blanches, il prend peur alors que ce ne sont que des dératisateurs. Au théâtre, les femmes préparent un spectacle dans lequel il est question du viol d’un homme. Lafayette, mal à l’aise durant ces répétitions, provoque quelque peu les comédiennes qui décident de le violer réellement. Cet acte de violence est accompli par Angélica (Gail Lawrence) qui par ailleurs est amoureuse de lui.
