Nanako Matsushima (松嶋 菜々子, Matsushima Nanako, born October 13, 1973) is a Japanese actress and model. She is known outside Japan for her role in the horror film Ring. She was also a main character in A Story of Love, along with Ring co-star Hiroyuki Sanada. In 2011 her drama Kaseifu no Mita scored ratings of 40% making it one of the highest rated Japanese dramas of all time.

Personal life
On February 21, 2001, she married Japanese actor Takashi Sorimachi. They have two daughters together, born on May 31, 2004 and November 30, 2007. She is considered one of Japan's most beautiful women.

The film is something of an epilogue; set in 2005, 60 years after the war, it opens at a crematorium in Kobe, just after the aunt, Hisako Sawano has died at the age of 95. The funeral director comments how a person who lived through the Meiji, Taisho, Showa and Heisei eras had finally gone to rest. Following the events of Ring, the body of Ryūji Takayama, former husband of Reiko Asakawa and father of Yōichi Asakawa, is examined by his friend and rival, pathologist Mitsuo Andō. After he finds a cryptic note in Takayama's stomach, Reiko and Yōichi also turn up dead. Andō soon learns of a mysterious cursed videotape, haunted by the spirit of a murdered young woman.
